В этом году исполняется 20 лет классической и одной из самых популярных серий LEGO Creator — это конструктор для детей на темы от маленьких диких зверушек до космических шаттлов. Рассказываем историю LEGO Creator, о ее самых впечатляющих наборах и о будущем LEGO для взрослых.

Мы съездили в музей LEGO в Минске, где выставлено много старых и крутых наборов серии Creator, чтобы вживую оценить, как она выглядит.

Первые шаги к серии Creator 3 в 1

Первый массовый выпуск серии Creator случился в 2001 году: простенькие наборы и ведра с обычными строительными кубиками. Тогда на фоне сверхудачного запуска Bionicle и «Гарри Поттера» мало кто заметил новую линейку. Это были наборы с машинками, животными, динозаврами и роботами, очень похожие на серию LEGO Basic.

В музее LEGO в Минске экспонируется один из первых наборов Creator, который рассказывает историю Макса и Тины — двух больших фигурок, не похожих на привычные нам мини-фигурки LEGO. В комплекте со всеми ранними наборами шли буклеты с идеями — вариантами альтернативных сборок.

Приключения Тины и Макса продолжились в наборе «Птица На-На» (4177). Птица так называется, потому что везде поет «на-на-на-на». В комплекте на VHS шел криповый фильм. Только посмотрите на это.

В этом ролике интересно то, как LEGO подает конструктор Creator. Его главная идея в постоянной переигровке — из одного набора можно было собрать множество «идей» для увлекательных игр и историй. Персонажи фильма конструируют машины, строят сидение для слона, чтобы пройти сквозь джунгли, собирают вертолет и чинят гнездо.

Подобные альтернативные сборки были и ранее распространены, например в некоторых суперкарах Technic (вот тут подробнее). Но в ранней линейке Creator часто можно собирать одновременно много фигур из одного набора деталей. Комплектные буклеты не содержали подробных инструкций для всех вариантов, а лишь давали идеи.

Make & Create: свобода творчества и альтернативные сборки

В начале нулевых продажи компании Lego сильно упали по всему миру. Кризис повлек за собой перемены, включавшие смену позиционирования бренда. Акцент сместился с поддержки творческих способностей на весь процесс изобретательности, связанный с игрой с продуктами LEGO. Новая концепция получила название «Сила творить» (The Power to Create) и укоренилась во всем, что делала компания, — от разработки идеи продукта до маркетинговых кампаний.

В связи с этим с 2003 по 2006 год много серий LEGO, включая Creator, объединили одной большой темой с одинаковым дизайном коробок — Make & Create. Во главу поставили посыл свободы творчества и дополнительных идей для сборки. Правда, новая серия там была представлена лишь наборами для самой маленькой аудитории 4+. Туда также вошли линейки Designer Set и Inventor, которые в будущем как раз и станут основой LEGO Creator, сохранившейся до наших дней.
