Background

Ethan Matthew Hunt (born August 18, 1964) is a senior field operations agent for the IMF, an elite, top-secret espionage and covert operations agency that handles dangerous and highly sensitive international missions that have been deemed "impossible". His expertise is disguising and can speak many languages.

Ethan was born in Madison, Wisconsin and a son of Margaret and a unknown father as well as uncle of Donald. He was raised on a farm. Ethan took up disguising as a talent during his childhood years to combat the seclusion of farm life. He later studied Linguistics, Theater and Drama at the University of Madison, He met Sarah Davis while attending.

Ethan attended the CIA training academy where he met Jack Harmon, when they were roommates. After a prank involving Ethan impersonating a Academy Commanding Officer at the promotion ceremony, He was recruited by Jim Phelps for a mission in Versailles, France. After the mission, Ethan was made a member ever since.

Mission: Impossible

Ethan Hunt was a member of Jim Phelps' IMF team. In Prague in 1996, he and his fellow operatives were tasked with the job of photographing and apprehending Aleksander Golitsyn, as well as preventing him from selling the Non-Official Cover (NOC) list - a comprehensive list of all covert agents in Eastern Europe.

Ethan's role in the plan was to remain in character as a Senator, and wait for Sarah Davies to guide him through the building and reach restricted areas. The mission went inextricably wrong, resulting in the deaths of the team, leaving Ethan to believe that he was the sole survivor.

Fleeing the scene, Ethan met with Eugene Kittridge, the CIA-based director of the IMF, at a café. Ethan, very much in shock, was disturbed to learn from Kittridge that a mole, codenamed Job, had infiltrated IMF, and that the Prague operation was meant to ferret Job out by allowing the mole to acquire the NOC list and attempt to sell it to "Max", an illegal arms dealer known for corrupting IMF agents.

The NOC list in Prague was fake, the real list being held in CIA Headquarters in Virginia. With Ethan the sole survivor, the CIA believed he was the mole. Ethan realises this, and mounted a daring escape from the café, fleeing into Prague. Ethan returned to the IMF safe house, where he discovered fellow IMF agent Claire Phelps, Phelps's wife, actually survived the mission.

Ethan began a correspondence with "Max" (a woman), explaining that the NOC list was a fake and offering to deliver the real NOC list in exchange for the identity of the mole. Max agreed to the deal and offered Ethan a cash advance, which Ethan used to assemble a team of disavowed former IMF agents, including computer expert Luther Stickell and pilot Franz Krieger.

The new team infiltrated the heavily fortified headquarters of the CIA in Langley and successfully stole a copy of the full NOC list before escaping to a safe house in London. Once there, Ethan discovered that his uncle and mother had been falsely arrested for drug trafficking in an attempt to lure him out. This infuriated Hunt, and he contacted Kittridge, who offered to drop the false charges the moment Ethan surrendered to authorities.

Ethan hung up, after allowing Kittridge to trace him to the London area, turned around and walked right into Jim Phelps. Phelps, presumed dead in the Prague operation, revealed that Kittridge was the mole and was tying up loose ends by trying to apprehend Ethan. Ethan reflected on this, while in reality piecing together the clues he discovered leading up to his operation and realised that Phelps was the mole.

Ethan pretended to accept the story while being uncertain about Claire's place in the conspiracy. The next day, Max and Ethan arranged to meet aboard the TGV en route to Paris, with Claire and Luther aboard to provide backup. Kittridge was also aboard, having recently arrived in London and received tickets for the TGV and a video watch from Ethan.

In the train, Ethan delivered the supposed NOC list to Max, who directed him to the luggage compartment to find his money, and Job. Max then attempted to transmit the NOC list to a server, an operation hindered by Luther, who activated a jamming device to prevent the upload. Claire, observing Kittridge's presence aboard the train, vacated her seat and met with Phelps in the luggage car, confirming her part in the conspiracy. A silent "Phelps" slowly peeled away his mask, revealing himself as Ethan.

Suddenly, the real Phelps appeared, armed and demanding the NOC list money. Ethan surrendered it before pulling out a pair of glasses. He slid them over his eyes, activating the camera inside and transmitting Phelps's image to Kittridge, proving beyond a doubt that Phelps was still alive. Phelps, now revealed as the traitor, shot and killed Claire in anger when she spoke against killing Ethan. He then beat Ethan down before escaping to the roof of the train, where Krieger, also a traitor, waited to extract him with a helicopter. Ethan recovered and followed Phelps, impeded his efforts to escape and tethered Krieger's helicopter to the train as it headed into the Channel Tunnel.

With the helicopter now following the train inside the tunnel. The two fought atop the wind-swept train before Phelps disconnected the helicopter from the train and attempted to escape. Ethan followed, leaped onto the helicopter's landing skids and attached explosive gum to the windshield. The ensuing explosion killed Phelps and Krieger, with Ethan narrowly escaping. Kittridge, now in possession of the NOC list and Max's true identity, dropped his investigation against Ethan and reinstated Luther as an IMF agent.

A little while later, as Ethan was on a plane flying home, a flight attendant approached him and through a coded phrase asked if he's ready for another mission; because of his actions during the crisis, Ethan was promoted to the position of team leader. After being given the new cover legend of a traffic engineer who studies traffic patterns for the Virginia Department of Transportation, he officially became a "senior field operations agent." Since then, Ethan Hunt has become the Impossible Mission Force's premier field agent.

Amazing Fun

I have never seen any of the M:I movies and only got this pack for the fuse box ability and access to the Fall Rescue Red Brick. That being said, I had a ton of fun playing this level and building the figures. I wish the accessories were a bit different because they're basically the same thing, but other than that, I have no regrets of buying this set! In fact, I wish I'd have bought it sooner!!

Older lego

Got what I wanted. But Lego in general is too expensive nowadays. Great set and works well with my game. Fits perfectly in my collection.

Here you’ll join Agent Hunt as he relives his adventures from the original Mission: Impossible movie. New Level Packs bring new stories to explore, a new Adventure World, and a bunch of collectibles to discover. Unlike other LEGO games, the collectibles in Dimensions can be tricky — you might not have all the characters you need — so go in prepared with our complete guide, explaining which powers you’ll need first.

Don’t forget about the Hero-for-Hire system, and check out the complete list of Red Bricks (and their locations) on our LEGO Dimensions Red Bricks Guide.

Mission: Impossible Level Pack – All Collectibles Locations

The Mission: Impossible Level Pack expansion features a brand new stage for players to explore. There are 10 minikits and 1 rescue — just like every other level included in the main story, Level Packs, or Story Packs.

Unlocking Minikits in LEGO Dimensions can be tough — you’ll need all the right figures. If you don’t have a figure with the power listed below, use the Hire-a-Hero system to summon-up the character you need. A “?” block will appear next to every interactive device and show the full list of heroes with the power you need.

  • Required Powers: Relic Detector, Grapple, Parseltongue
  • Location: Hunt-ing for Golitsyn – Near the water canal, head down the steps to find a gate in a dead-end corner of the stage. Here, use Wyldstyle on the purple glowing particles to reveal a grapple-point. Ethan Hunt (or Batman) can pull the grapple to reveal a snake-locked door. Only Harry Potter or Voldemort can use this door. Construct the hopping bricks that appear to create a fishing pole. After a short cutscene, you’ll get the minikit.
  • Required Powers: Laser
  • Location: Hunt-ing for Golitsyn – This is in the party proper. Inside the fancy estate, look above the tall windows for a LEGO brick chandelier. Target it with a laser — Superman, Cyborg, and others have this ability – and the chandelier will topple. Make sure to shoot your laser at the gold part of the chandelier only! Construct the hopping bricks from the chandelier crash to get this minikit.
  • Required Powers: Intelligence
  • Location: Hunt-ing for Golitsyn – Downstairs from the ballroom you’ll find a locked wooden door with an interactive device to the left. Only characters with ‘Intelligence’ can use the matching tiles — any Ghostbusters (2016), any Doctor Who, or Doc Brown can use these panels. Solve the memory mini-game and the doors will open, showing off the third missing minikit.
  • Required Powers: Mini Access
  • Location: Hunt-ing for Golitsyn – Back on the city streets, look for a short-door to the left of the fountain square. The door is to the left of the shoppe window where you can see the minikit floating behind glass. Gollum or any other mini character can enter these small doors. You’ll appear inside a shoppe containing this minikit.
  • Required Powers: Magno Gloves, Sonar Smash
  • Location: Fish Tank Fracas – After leaving the restaurant fight, watch for a blue metal pipe on the side of a building as you progress through the city street. Climb the blue metal with Ethan Hunt’s magnet gloves, then break the glass — characters like Homer Simpson can bust glass with his burp — the minikit is through the glass balcony doors.
  • Required Powers: Boomerang, Dig, Silver LEGO Blowup
  • Location: Fish Tank Fracas – At the IMF HQ, look for a IMF-emblazoned van on the right side of the area. It’s covered in bats — use Batman’s batarang to remove the bats. Construct the crate; there are two more crates you’ll need to find. The second crate is in the middle of the round-a-bout. Smash all the LEGO bushes near the IMF logo in the grass, then dig all the dirt spots. Scooby-Doo can make it happen. Build the hopping bricks that appear here. Finally, reach the IMF building rooftop — above the blue metal Magno Glove path, there’s a silver LEGO vent. Blast it, construct the parts, and you’ll finally get the sixth minikit.

Rescue:

  • Required Powers: Scan Disguise, Magic
  • Location: Fish Tank Fracas – Inside the IMF building interior, look for a Scan Disguise marker on the back-right of the lobby with the metal detectors. Scan the guard near the detectors to change costumes, then use the costume on the laser grid to the right to remove the barrier. Use Gandalf’s magic on the giant bomb to save your Mission: Impossible pal by snipping all four wires with the cutters.
  • Required Powers: Vent Access, Master Build
  • Location: Fish Tank Fracas – On the left side of the lobby, in the same room as the rescue, smash the desk and everything else to get enough hopping bricks to complete the blue/white LEGO tiles. Once the track is complete, push the vending machine all the way to the right. This reveals a vent – Lumpy Space Princess or Slimer can fly through here! Smash everything in the center of the new secret room to reveal a Master Build marker. Wyldstyle can complete this challenge and get you the seventh minikit.
  • Required Powers: Charge Transfer
  • Location: Fish Tank Fracas – In the secret room you were able to reach through the Vent Access, there are still two more minkits to find. On the left, climb the ladder and use the Ghostbusters (2016) to activate the Charge Transfer station. Use the charged Abbey Yates on the uncharged panel to the right to open a door with this minikit hidden inside.
  • Required Powers: Charge Transfer, Fuse Box, Magic
  • Location: Fish Tank Fracas – Remember the previous minikit? Using the Charge Station opened a door on the left. Go explore that area and construct the room full of hopping bricks. Use Ethan Hunt to solve the Fuse Box challenge — this causes a missile to launch and drop a bunch of new hopping bricks. Build those up and use Gandalf to move the giant sunglasses, netting you one more minikit.
  • Required Powers: None!
  • Location: Black Vault Descent – In the room where Ethan Hunt is lowered by a rope past lots of lasers, grab this easy-to-spot minikit while moving down. You can’t miss it!

That’s all the collectibles for the Mission: Impossible Level Pack for LEGO Dimensions. Do you need more help? Looking for LEGO kits in different levels? Let us know in the comments!
