The fifth season of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, subtitled Possession, is preceded by Season 4 and succeeded by Season 6. Though Lloyd was the mascot character, the focus character is unclear and up for interpretation. Morro served as the main antagonist, and the Ghost Warriors were the villainous faction of the season.

Official description

A grieving Lloyd is possessed by the ghost of Morro – the Master of Wind and Wu’s first student. In Lloyd’s body, Morro renders the other ninja powerless before stealing Wu’s staff. It contains three hidden symbols, the path to finding the Tomb of First Spinjitzu Master. Wu knows that if Morro finds the tomb, he will claim the Realm Crystal. This relic has the power to open the fabric between realms, enabling the powerful Preeminent to enter the NINJAGO world. [citation needed]

Story

After Garmadon's sacrifice to stop Chen and the Anacondrai Cultists, Lloyd is faced with the loss of his father and he is deeply saddened by it. This leads to him being tricked by Morro, and letting the ghost possess his body. Morro, also the Elemental Master of Wind, and a former student of Sensei Wu, was released from the Cursed Realm after Garmadon opened the portal. He then sought out to find Lloyd, and later, Sensei Wu's Staff. Morro was trained to be the Green Ninja, so logically, he possessed Lloyd to become the Green Ninja himself. He also needed to find the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master, and only a Spinjitzu Master is capable of finding the Tomb. The Ninja must stop him from finding the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master and cursing the Sixteen Realms by releasing his master, the Preeminent, and must also free their friend from the possession of Morro. They will also need to learn a new fighting style, Airjitzu, along the way.

The Ninja become stronger as they find new friends, face their fears, and find secrets that have been hidden. The Ninja also face many new adventures while Lloyd is possessed. They uncover the three secrets of Airjitzu, retrieve the Sword of Sanctuary, and locate the First Spinjitzu's Master's tomb, while persevering through many challenges and tests.

Sensei Wu reveals that Nya can have the control over the element of Water as her mother did. She joins the ninja and unlocks her True Potential to save Ninjago from being destroyed by the Preeminent by using a massive wave to drown it.

Despite being the ninja who was featured the least in this season, Lloyd was the mascot ninja for the sets. The collectible items were the Aeroblades. The promotional media and box art depicted a mountain setting with a darker blue color theme, though this is not a specific location seen in the season.

The sets primarily focused on ghost vehicles and ninja vehicles, and many included side builds of locations visited throughout the season (Steep Wisdom, Samurai X Cave, the Tomb of the First Spinjitzu Master) or ninja vehicles that did not appear in the show (Zane's glider, Jay and Kai's hover boards, Nya's speedboat and airbike).

This was the first set wave to feature Airjitzu Flyers. This wave marked the debut of the updated shuriken design, though the show retained the original design in this season.

The game consists of four levels of increasing difficulty. Each of them has a unique, fascinating background which takes you back to East Asia and the golden age of ninjas. A beautiful misty lake, the rooftops of an apparently peaceful city, a mysterious icy cave and breathtaking moonlit mountain peaks - these are the backdrops of your thrilling adventure! Accompanied by engaging music and lively sound effects, each level is sure to keep you drawn in and ready to give your best!

How to play the game

The gameplay is straightforward and easy to get used to. All you need to do to move your character is to press the arrow keys on your keyboard. To attack the enemies and perform special moves, you only have to press the space-bar key. At the beginning of each level, you get to select the hero of your adventure.

Whether you choose the cool-headed Cole, fiery Kai, reserved Zane, light-hearted Jay or even the wise Lloyd, make sure you put their skills to good use. And don't forget that you need to complete all four levels with a character in order to unlock the next one!

To complete a level, you have to go through the intricate labyrinth of stairs, ramps, steep walls, and unstable bridges. You will encounter several obstacles along the way, such as menacing enemies which you need to get past using your ninja strength.

Useful Tips

But this isn't the only skill you will need to complete this mission successfully! The cubes and platforms which open different routes and uncover secret items are a real test of your intelligence and ability to think on the spot.

Be careful not to get stuck, because you will have to start over! Also, make sure you find all the lego parts to complete your weapons! There are nine on each level, and some of them are easy to miss.

Also, keep an eye on the green hearts in the top left part of your screen. They get depleted every time you get hit, and once you run out of health, you need to start over!
