The diorama puzzles are easy on the eyes and show off creative ideas, but with a playtime of close to 2 hours this journey is extremely short lived.

Builder’s Journey is an impressively put together experience for the most part, but is probably only worth investing in at full price for true Lego die-hards.

Issues aside, it’s good to see LEGO Builder’s Journey receive a wider release. It’s a little on the short side, but has a surprisingly good story. Players who enjoy puzzle games, especially fans of LEGO, will find a lot to like.

Builder’s Journey isn’t in that same vein though, instead taking a very different path to provide a slower and more contemplative puzzle experience that, of course, centers on the creative use of LEGO pieces to get you through. What really made the greatest impression on me from the game though isn’t the smart use of the pieces in a very sensible context but instead the story that it tells. Without dialogue or narration of any kind the story of a parent and their child starting out on a journey together, with some sidetracks that separate them along the way, is what pulled me in the most. Completing the puzzle on each screen would give me a taste of what happens next and that tended to be my biggest driver, though I absolutely appreciated the unique challenge of making use of the trademark pieces to solve problems brought. It isn’t without flaws, with running time and occasional issues where knowing what piece you want to put where can be encumbered by the camera not cooperating well topping the list, but on the whole I still found the experience very satisfying. There’s just something special to me about the whole package of what this game offers, and given its highly accessible nature for gamers of all skill levels it’s easy to recommend… even if I wish the experience could have lasted a bit longer.

Given the price this is sitting at… I don’t know if I can really recommend it. I really need to qualify that though because I think it is absolutely a worthwhile experience, it’s fantastic story telling with stunning visuals. But that about 2 hours I mentioned at the start… that wasn’t just to get a feel for the game… that was to complete the game, from start to finish… about 2 hours. So at this point I’d only really recommend buying the game if it’s on special or if they do in fact add more content (I really hope they do because I’d love to spend more time in this world).

По картинкам игра веселее и интереснее, чем когда играешь сам. Скучновато и да, убогое управление. По скидке можно взять, но явно не по полной цене. В общем, леговские сюжетные игры явно намного лучше. Не советую.

The creative mode has so many limitations, whether it be the blocks that are there to use, the horrible way to obtain new bricks or the small platform to place them on. I don't know if there are some technical limitations associated with it, but as it stands, the creative mode is borderline useless. Please fix the issues and add QOL improvements.

I didn't have any issues with the actual framerate. But on almost every puzzle, shortly after switching between screens, there would be a seconds-long video hang, though the audio played normally. It sometimes even occurred mid-puzzle, on the puzzles where everything dynamically re-configures. This is running on a fairly high-end machine, and off a fast SSD. Anyone else have that issue.

Also out of the box having to tweak it so much to get decent performance it's honestly very bad. Which is the target system for this to work as intended, is this a game exclusively aimed for RTX owners. I'm a bit annoyed at this. More than a bit. It's a stylized puzzle game. Why haven't they designed it so it can run like a regular game in regular systems.
