Лего dimensions story pack

Обновлено: 28.04.2024

Lego Dimensions (opens in new tab) already has one of the most entertaining campaigns in a Lego game for years but that's only the beginning of the brick-rolling action. There are veritable seas of characters to collect and build, entire worlds to explore and ultra nerdy jokes to chortle at. Whether you want to head to Hogwarts, explore Aperture Science or mind the dinosaurs of Jurassic World, there's far too much to do. Add in all those enticing abilities for

Plus, if you want to unlock everything that Lego Dimensions has to offer, you’ll need some extra abilities to access those hard to reach gold bricks and that means investing in characters who can give you the most abilities for the least amount of cash. Early tip: Get your hands on Adventure Time's Jake. He's a veritable plastic swiss army knife. Here are the the very best Lego Dimensions packs and characters so far, and we've listed the the best price for them to make sure you can complete your collection for less.

Lego Batman Movie Story Pack

Make sure you see the movie first so you don’t spoil the fun here but Lego Batman’s Story Pack is just as hilarious as you would expect. Including Batgirl and literally the most adorable Lego Robin figure you’ve ever seen, this story pack lets you rebuild your portal as the minimalist Batcave before hurtling you through the story of the movie in six levels.

Once again TT Games has outdone itself with the levels themselves but it’s even built an all new Lego Batman Movie Adventure world to explore and earn bricks in another version of Gotham. Throw in the new Batman ability to fire promotional goods with his merch gun to stun enemies and this is a hilarious and charming addition to the story packs on offer. It might seem expensive but there’s hours of story here before you even get onto the hub world, making it a serious investment of time with plenty to do and unlock. Batarangs at the ready.

Lego Batman Movie Fun Pack

Because why shouldn’t Batman have an enormous sword and a flame eyed steed? This absurd fun pack hands over a plastic version of Excalibur Batman and a horse that I just don’t think is in the movie but TT Games clearly wanted to build anyway. The Bionic Steed is ridiculously fun to build and in game you can bounce sky high as you ride around, which is equally absurd. Excalibur Batman comes with a slick upgraded cloak in real life - oooh soft - but it’s his abilities you’ll probably want him for.

This Dark Knight can interact with sword switches like Adventure Time’s Jake, vine cut, do stealth, grapple, master build and has super strength, making him a great all rounder for a multitalented team. Most importantly, Excalibur Batman gives you the cheapest access to the Lego Batman Movie adventure world so makes a great investment if you don’t fancy the Story Pack. Plus, did I mention that he has a sword?

Mission Impossible Level Pack

You’re already humming the theme song, aren’t you? Goooood. While it might seem an unlikely franchise for the Danish brick treatment, Mission: Impossible somehow fits perfectly into Lego Dimensions with one of the strongest level offerings available. Split across key scenes from the movie, the brilliant level is lengthy with plenty of variation which largely comes down to Ethan Hunt’s impressive array of abilities.

Chances are that if you’ve spent any time exploring Lego Dimensions you’ll have seen Tom Cruise’s face pop up as you attempt to extricate the odd gold brick. That’s because on top of being an acrobat, Hunt can use tech panels, fuse boxes, blow up silver bricks, use magnetic gloves to climb, interact with drone mazes and scan enemies to turn into them. While some of these are available from other characters such as Doc Brown, the combination here makes Hunt unmissable.

Adventure Time Fun Pack

If you’ve already got the Adventure Time Level and Team Packs then surely Marceline is on your must buy list. It turns out that the Vampire Queen is genuinely one of the most happy making characters to tumble out of a Fun Pack for ages. Armed with her trusty guitar she’ll happily dance away to her own music while idling but isn’t just a pretty face. Marceline can transform into a bat to flap around each level, a dog to go digging for treasures and, like Finn, has the ability to take out Red Demon bricks.

If that wasn’t enough, she’s also got stealth, tracking, acrobatic abilities and mini access. What’s not to love? Add in her incredible float instead of walking technique and her frankly ridiculous Lunatic Amp vehicle and the Vampire Queen is brilliant. Plus, if you don’t have any Adventure Time packs so far, she’ll give you the direct cheapest access to the Adventure Time hub world and has a stack of the abilities you’ll need.

Adventure Time Level Pack

Pick an enthusiastic Finn and Jake-ism and you’ll probably end up squee-ing it repeatedly during the lengthy technicolour campaign level that comes with popping Finn on your portal. It wouldn’t be grown up of me just to shout ‘Mathematical!’ but it’s testament to the heady heights of the high quality of Lego Dimensions levels that this manages to raise the bar even higher as you explore the land of OOO.

Ideally you should pair this up with the Team Pack for full on Adventure Times with the rest of the characters but Jake is in the level itself for some bro time and the Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant is an ultra useful vehicle to fly around on, complete with laser powers. Plus Finn’s multiple sword abilities come in handy for taking down vines, decimating Red Demon bricks and he can deflect lasers. He’s also great fun for swinging on ropes and nailing targets with his crossbow.

Adventure Time Team Pack

A perfect accessory for the mathematical Level Pack or just a different way into the gorgeous Adventure Time world, the Team Pack includes Jake, Lumpy Space Princess, BMO and LSP’s Lumpy Car. While it’s adorable to run around on BMO and the building of the little Game Boy-alike IRL is a lot of fun, you really want this pack for one reason. Jake. This shapeshifting yellow dog might just be your new best Lego friend. Not only does he have the grappling ability, tracking, digging, and rope swings, he’s also got a shapeshift ability. This lets him do sonar switches, turn into a sphere for Gyrosphere switches, have super strength, be a drill, shrink, dive and do drone mazes. Multitalented just isn’t the word. He’s a veritable stretchy Swiss army knife.

Fantastic Beasts Story Pack

Because who doesn't want a Niffler in their living room? Have all the joys of having a delightful duck-billed mole without any of the jewellery stealing chaos. The Fantastic Beasts Story Pack gives your portal a magical makeover with the intricate MACUSA doorway and hands over six huge new wand waving levels that follow the story of the movie. Like the film itself, the result is downright spectacular and Newt and co hurtle through gorgeous recreations of 1920s New York. When TT Games offers up such genuine and hilarious adaptations, why would you want to play movies in any other form? The Fantastic Beasts free roam world that’s also unlocked has another stack of gold bricks to earn and structures to rebuild, adding plenty of wizarding fun. You’d be Knuts to miss it.

Fantastic Beasts - Tina Goldstein Fun Pack

If you don’t fancy shelling out for the full Fantastic Beasts story pack, this is the perfect way to experience the beautiful hub world without the hefty price tag. With both Tina Goldstein and the ultra fun to build Swooping Evil, this little pack gives you access to the ridiculously gorgeous 1920s New York sandbox. It’s almost worth it just to fly around as Swooping Evil but if you’re looking for a multitalented character to add to your haul, Tina comes in useful in a stack of situations. Not only does she have the traditional wizard Diffindo spell, she’s also got water spray, stealth, hazard cleaner and comes in handy with her deflection ability.

Portal 2 Level Pack

If there was one franchise that could draw the gaze of the entire gaming world like Sauron’s Eye, it was always going to be Portal. Somehow TT Games has been allowed to play in Valve’s sandpit and the bricky result is glorious. From the incredible level where you’ll get that much sought after genius feeling as you solve an enjoyably tricky puzzle, to the full Aperture set hub world where GLaDOS herself - Ellen McLain - will chastise you for destroying everything in sight, this is a exceptional mash up. The humour is spot on, Lego figures utterly adorable and the only problem you’ll have is that you’ll want a full game in stud form. Oh, and I’m making a note here, there’s cake. No lie.

Simpsons Level Pack

If the early section of the full Lego Dimensions campaign felt like an unfair tease of the delights of Springfield, consider this level pack a ticket to the ultimate Simpsons theme park. Complete with can of Buzz Cola - Lego doesn’t do booze - Homer comes with his iconic car and the referential Taunt-o-Vision gadget for blowing up silver Lego bricks. The level itself revolves around Homer’s hallucinations after he consumes Chief Wiggums’ insanity peppers and is a brilliant slice of Simpsons action with plenty of humour.

Abilities wise, no one really stands out but it’s worth noting though that Homer’s car can be upgraded to the SubmaHomer which does let you destroy silver bricks underwater. As someone who spent hours despairing underwater in the Scooby Doo Adventure World, this isn’t a combo known for its frequency. Add in the intimidating Simpsons sandbox to explore with a stack of gold bricks to earn and you should definitely head down this particular yellow brick road.

Although the future of Lego Dimensions is unknown, there's no denying that it already boasts an impressive collection of content. So, let's take a look back at the ten best currently available Level and Story Packs.

Fantastic Beasts Story Pack

Portal 2 Level Pack

I never would have guessed I'd be playing a Lego version of the Portal franchise and this miniature interpretation does a great job of staying close to the games. It's a ton of fun solving Aperture's puzzles as the resourceful Chell with her trusty Sentry Turret and useful Companion Cube by her side.

The Simpsons Level Pack

The colourful world of The Simpsons is represented beautifully here in its very own Level Pack complete with Homer's belch ability that shatters glass in his vicinity. Strolling around the Lego reinterpretation of the classic Simpsons episode "The Mysterious Voyage of Homer" is quite a unique and enjoyable experience.

Adventure Time Level Pack

Another cartoon with its own Lego Level Pack is Adventure Time. TT Games recreated the episode where Finn and chums search for the elusive Enchiridion while sauntering around the amazingly colourful and goofy Land of Ooo. I'm sure Finn's weapon-swap ability will come in handy on this adventure!

Mission Impossible Level Pack

Ethan Hunt is back in action in this blocky version of the first Mission Impossible movie. Many classic scenes can be played through as the cute Lego Tom Cruise (actual height) including the famous vault heist where he hangs on a rope and hacks a computer. Plus, there are tons of optional missions to master.

Back to the Future Level Pack

Join Marty McFly as he travels through time in his plastic DeLorean Time Machine. TT Games went the extra mile for this one and got the cast from the original movies to re-record their dialogue. Fun fact: this pack was released slightly before the famous date that Marty travels forward in time to: October 21, 2015.

Midway Arcade Level Pack

If you can't play enough classic arcade games then look no further than this Level Pack as it's an amalgamation of Midway games and it actually allows you to play 23 of them in all their retro glory; no quarters required! Purchasing it also unlocks the world that's surprisingly more impressive than the level.

Doctor Who Level Pack

Being able to play as twelve doctors is a great way to add content to a Level Pack, especially when each one has his own quirky style. The level in this one is quite lengthy and captures multiple scenes from the universe of Doctor Who. Solving puzzles and fending off Autons and Daleks with K-9 is so much fun.

Ghostbusters Story Pack

Another faithful interpretation of a recent movie, the Ghostbusters Story Pack features Abby Yates and the option to change to each of her Ghost-busting buddies. Combined together, you'll unlock a ton of useful abilities with these ladies that can be used throughout the lengthy story. Plus, the Chinese restaurant gate looks pretty cool.

The Lego Batman Movie Story Pack

This Story Pack stars the ultimate line-up of cameos from popular franchises in Lego form with many hilarious moments unfolding as you play through the levels. It's a treat to be given two characters as opposed to only one, too. Watching Robin's delightful antics is sure to put a smile on anyone's face!

Lego Dimensions: The Lego Batman Movie Story Pack Review Lego Batman rocks out with his Excalibur out!

Given how recently the movie was released, this review deliberately contains absolutely NO SPOILERS for the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. This doesn’t, however, protect you from any bad magic-related puns or a serious overuse of the word “fantastic”.

The wizarding world of Harry Potter is once again on the big screen with a brand new tale to tell. Set long before ‘the boy that lived’ ever made his way to Diagon Alley, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them takes us back in time to 1920s New York and introduces us to a new unlikely hero, Newt Scamander. While the movie is wowing fans in cinemas around the world, TT Games has done what they do best and created their own bricked homage to this new magical adventure.

The LEGO Dimensions series two opening wave set the bar pretty high for everything that has to follow. With new franchises, new characters, new worlds, and new game modes to play with, the toys-to-life Goliath feels as fresh today as it did back in September 2015. One of the major new features of series two is the story packs, expansion packs which not only provide a full campaign of new levels in-game, but also include a full new scene build for your LEGO Dimensions toy pad.

Continuing the LEGO Dimensions tradition of franchise and genre-hopping, the follow-up to the last wave’s story pack takes us from horror comedy Ghostbusters (2016) to magical fantasy Fantastic Beasts. This is, of course, not the first time that J.K. Rowling’s universe has appeared in LEGO Dimensions, having already made it’s debut with the Harry Potter team pack back in September. Where that pack offered nothing more that an open-world hub to explore, Newt and his beastly friends are bringing so much more to the multiverse.

While fans of the new movie – the start of a five-movie franchise – will be excited to get their hands on a new minifigure and six brand new levels for the game inspired by the big screen adventure, there’s a great bit of LEGO building to sink your teeth into before you jump into the virtual world. As this is a story pack, you’re treated to a brand new scene setting for your toy pad, a LEGO recreation of America’s answer to the Ministry of Magic, the Magical Congress of the United States of America.

After a year of playing around with spare LEGO and trying to come up with my own less than adequate toy-pad designs, the excitement of building the Ghostbusters HQ facade a couple of months back was indescribable. Now, however, we’re into Harry Potter territory, a franchise that has seen some amazing LEGO recreations over the past decade already, expectations were so high. Having now had the pleasure of building this new set, and as much as I loved the Ghostbusters creation, I’m going to be extremely blunt and say, this one is better.

Much like the last scene build, it’s a good thirty minutes of fun construction and while it’s not filled with quite as many smaller details when compared to the Ghostbusters HQ, it does have one ace in the hole. In addition to doors that can open, the two platforms on either side of the entrance can be raised and lowered via levers at the back. Added to the this, the fact that they are the perfect size to fit a circular toy tag on means that you can comfortably fit a couple of figures on the scene while they’re not in use – I had Harry Potter and Voldemort overlooking Newts adventure throughout, who better to jump in, right?

What makes this such a stunning addition to your LEGO collection is the uniquely designed gold gate pieces which make up both the doors and the platform walls, they look fantastic and have so much potential with other designs should you wish to use them elsewhere. The other big win with the Fantastic Beasts scene build is there are no stickers anywhere. From the golden wings on the doors to the brown flower tip pieces, every bit of detail has been included without the need to plant a sticker, this even includes MACUSA emblem which sits above the door, which is pre-printed.

This is definitely a design to admire, though no pictures seem to do it the justice it deserves. The only disappointment comes from the lack of any detail towards the front of the toy pad. In comparison to both the original portal and the Ghostbusters HQ, the golden studs and grey flat 3×1 bricks seem a little spartan compared to what they could included. Turning a negative into a positive, though, it does leave extra space for spare characters.

Moving on to the most important part of the physical set, the minifigure, and the vehicle/accessory. In the Fantastic Beasts set it is really no surprise to see Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander as the minifigure, he is the protagonist of the movie after all. Joining him on his magical LEGO adventure is Niffler, one of his fantastic beasts.

Our new wizarding hero has made the jump to LEGO brilliantly, the figure being not just an accurate recreation of the character’s outfit, but a pretty decent likeness for Redmayne himself. Of course, this is the character’s debut so it is safe to say that, like many of the LEGO Dimensions figures, this is a set exclusive.

Starting from the top down, the hairpiece is a fairly common one for figures, appearing on multiple characters, including the most recent version of Marvel’s Hawkeye. This is, however, the first time I’ve seen it in this particular shade of very light brownish orange. It seems a little light for the character, in my opinion, but that is a minor issue at worst. The head comes complete with two different faces, as is now the norm, one passive and the other angry. The face, while reasonably generic, does feature additional facial lines, hinting at Redmayne’s own very defined bone structure.

LEGO Newt’s outfit could not be more fitting, matching his movie counterpart perfectly with a design which covers both the torso and legs. As he’s wearing a long blue coat, there isn’t a great deal that could have been added to the back of the torso, but there is still a black outline of the folds and buckle you’d expect to see. The front, on the other hand, is superb, featuring the blue jacket running from the shoulders right down to the knees, with his brown suit, light brown waistcoat, white shirt and bowtie well defined in the detail. Unsurprisingly, the wizards weapon of choice is, of course, a wand, which in LEGO terms in a small brown rod.

Much like his wizarding brethren, in-game Newt comes with a wealth of abilities, most of which are tied to his magical skills. These include levitation, a magical shield, Diffindo (Cut through stuff), illumination, repair machinery, flight, target, water spray, hazard cleaning, and many more of the standard, but extremely useful skills. There’s also a couple of new abilities which are specific to the character, apparation (also available to Harry and Voldemort), and, of course, his Fantastical Briefcase has specific access points where you can grab a little help at points in the story.

Niffler is an interesting addition, he’s a rodent-like magical creature who, by the looks of the trailers, looks like he has a talent for mischief (still not spoiling the movie). In LEGO Dimensions, he serves as the accompanying accessory which can be used for digging. Where he differs from almost every other vehicle/accessory, though, is that he can be controlled independently, you don’t need to have a character jump on his back to control.

In the movie world, he is quite a small creature, his LEGO version isn’t. An interesting design has been used to create this creature for the purposes of Dimensions, the black body and different shaped peach coloured clips make up a very blocky approximation of the rodent. The reason for this build is to allow for the reconfiguration of bricks based on the two in-game blueprints that you can unlock. The two configurations are the Sinister Scorpion and Vicious Vulture, both far less friendly look, though each brings their own new abilities, including fire breathing and flight.

As fantastic as the physical LEGO side of the pack is, there is so much more for you to enjoy once you’re in the game. As this is a story pack, there is a full story campaign to enjoy which is made up of six brand new levels. Each level is inspired by key scenes from the movie so I won’t jump into too much detail. What I can say, however, is how impressively expansive these new levels are. From start to finish, the campaign has several hours of gameplay available for a first run, set across some stunning environments which show off the movie locations brilliantly.

The gameplay utilises many of the already established mechanics as well as introducing a new keystone, Creation, which allows Newt the ability to create new creatures based on the combination of the three areas on the toy-pad. These are exceptionally handy during the puzzle solving, though, the keystone wasn’t the easiest keystone to figure out if I’m honest. The aforementioned briefcase access points also make an appearance throughout the story, but it’s the new apparation points that play the key role in navigating the levels many puzzles.

There are, of course, a huge number of easter eggs and hidden areas scattered throughout the story levels, some of which take you into other franchises. Recently, LEGO Dimensions let it slip that a Red Dwarf area now exists within the game, this is the pack you need should you wish to visit the big crimson one.

Adding to the brilliance, the movie’s soundtrack can be heard throughout, from the opening intro to the closing scene, there’s a clear sense that you’re in the Harry Potter universe, thanks in no small part to the ambient music. In addition, a number of the key character’s vocal talents have been lifted straight from the movie, though there are few voice-doubles throughout which, while doing a great job, are hard to miss sometimes. Another great addition is how Newt interacts with some members of your collection, namely Harry. While playing through the story and stumbling on to a puzzle which needed an extra set of hands, I had Harry jump in to assist. As he appeared in-game he was greeted by Newt saying, “Ah, a Gryffindor, I’m a Hufflepuff myself” – The little details get me every time.

Once you’re finished with the story, there’s still plenty to keep you entertained for hours thanks to the brand new Battle Arena and open-world hub for the franchise. The Fantastic Beasts world is exactly what you’d expect to see, the New York city cityscape brimming with side quests and collectibles, much like you’ve surely seen from other franchises.

Overall, the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Story Pack is one of the best things to come out of LEGO Dimensions to date. With a magical story that will keep you entertained for hours, some great new gaming mechanics and some beautifully Harry Potter’esque LEGO to build, there’s very little bad I can say about this set.

While there may be only six level in the story campaign, they are lengthy by LEGO game standards and the variety of stunning environments mean this is never a boring moment throughout.

It’s a shame that Harry didn’t get this much attention in LEGO Dimensions, but this is certainly a worthy substitute for any fan to enjoy.
