Lego harry potter ремастер

LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a beautiful and fun, though slightly unambitious, remaster that will entertain families and older fans alike.

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection is finally available on Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch and, as a whole, the remaster is a fun, if slightly unambitious experience for new and old players alike. While LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a new addition to the aforementioned systems, the game collection – which groups together 2010’s LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and 2011’s LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-8 into one – was previously released on PlayStation 4 back in 2016. This naturally means that developer Traveller’s Tales has had plenty of time to work out any kinks, and work them out they have.

Mechanically speaking, LEGO Harry Potter Collection has not changed at all from the older versions of the game. Having said that, running on a more powerful and advanced system certainly makes it feel like everything runs smoother. Characters move with grace, loading times are practically non-existent, and the charm of the game’s unique telling of the complete Harry Potter saga still holds up even after a near decade after its original release. It will easily appeal to kids who’ve never experienced Harry Potter before. Indeed, it may even be the best place for parents to start especially younger kids with the story, even over the books or movies.

Like the original games, LEGO Harry Potter Collection has players in the role of the eponymous character and his assortment of friends and teachers, solving somewhat easy puzzles and learning a surprising amount of diverse spells that will help players move forward in the game or reach other areas of the Hogwarts map (which has aged surprisingly well). Fans who’ve played other LEGO games new or old but never got around to playing LEGO Harry Potter the first time around should have no problem jumping right in and figuring out its mechanics and various spell systems.

For those who like to play with friends, there’s local co-op that supports up to two players (like most LEGO games). It’s disappointing that LEGO Harry Potter Collection didn’t up the player count or include online play, but this is an issue that Traveller’s Tales hasn’t even figured out with its newer games (including the just released LEGO DC Super-Villains), so it’s not altogether surprising. Still, the game’s lack of new features makes it feel somewhat like a wasted opportunity to add something new to the expansive wizarding world of Harry Potter.

Nowhere is this more apparent than in LEGO Harry Potter Collection’s lack of a voice cast – a feature that Traveller’s Tales has embraced again after releasing so many titles without that feature – or any sort of dialogue whatsoever. Out of all the titles lacking voiced characters before and after it, a remastered LEGO Harry Potter felt like the perfect opportunity to capitalize on this and include at least some repurposed dialogue from the movies. It’s honestly the biggest disappointment of the re-release and it further proves just how unambitious the title can feel at times.

Graphics-wise, LEGO Harry Potter Collection looks absolutely fantastic on the Xbox One X. In a lot of ways, it looks almost like a new title in the LEGO series with popping colors and refined textures. Perhaps it’s just the impressive hardware of the console or perhaps it’s Traveller’s Tales doing more than just slapping a new coat of paint over an old title, but in a lot of ways, this is where the LEGO Harry Potter Collection shines brightest as a remaster.

Like most LEGO titles, it’s also a completionist’s dream, featuring over 360 characters to unlock between the two combined titles, a plethora of side puzzles and in-game items to collect. For those who care about achievements, LEGO Harry Potter Collectioni has plenty to offer (for those who beat the original games, the achievements can be re-earned on a new system) and a player will never feel like they’re wasting their time.

Overall, this remaster is a blast, especially for players who’ve never experienced the original LEGO Harry Potter titles or those who want to introduce their children to the magical world of Harry Potter. Sure, it’s not perfect, and a times it feels downright unambitious in its execution and failure to deliver a new experience for players who’ve already delved deep into the original iterations. However, when it comes down to brass tacks, LEGO Harry Potter Collection is still a remaster worth exploring.

LEGO Harry Potter Collection is available now on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It was previously released on PlayStation 4 in 2016. Screen Rant was provided with an Xbox One code for the purposes of this review.

There are "enhanced graphics" and more for the new versions of Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 and 5-7.

The Lego Harry Potter games are being remastered in a new collection that will launch this October, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer TT Games announced today.

Included in the package, which is only being released on PlayStation 4, are remastered versions of Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 and Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7. There are "enhanced graphics," along with better lighting and visual effects. No footage of the game has been released, but the key art is below.

The collection also comes with the Character Pack and the Spell Pack. The Character Pack adds 10 characters, including special variations on some characters like Hermione in a pink dress and Lockhart in a straightjacket.

Character Pack:

  • Godric Gryffindor
  • Harry (Yule Ball)
  • Helga Hufflepuff
  • Lockhart (Straightjacket)
  • Luna (Lion Head)
  • Peeves
  • Hermione (Pink Dress)
  • Ron Weasley (Ghoul)
  • Rowena Ravenclaw
  • Salazar Slytherin

The Spell Pack, meanwhile, adds these five spells for players to use: Cantis (makes you sing), Densaugeo (makes your teeth grow way too much), Ducklifors (turns you into a duck), Melofors (turns your head into a pumpkin), and Tentaclifors (turns your head into a tentacle).

As for why Warner Bros. is releasing this Lego Harry Potter package now, some five years after the release of Years 5-7, it may have something to do with the new movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Warner Bros. said the game, which comes out on October 18 for $50, "serves as a perfect gift" for people who are interested in seeing the movie.

Fantastic Beasts is a prequel to the Harry Potter books and movies, which the games are based on. The movie comes out on November 18.

Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 and 5-7 were released on multiple consoles in addition to PC, but as of now, the new collection is only confirmed for PS4. We have followed up with Warner Bros. in an attempt to find out if the collection could come to systems other than PS4.

After all is said and done, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection really is a fun game and with this being the definitive collection, it is the best way to play. Of course, you can get this on Xbox One or PS4, but you can only take the Switch version with you when you go see the next Fantastic Beasts film.

The two-game LEGO Harry Potter Collection offers great value for those wanting to relive the young wizard’s brick-based adventures on Nintendo Switch. It’s practically bursting with content, but the improvements offer little more to those that have experienced their magic and charm before. Even if they are starting to show their age, the games remain as some of the best in the LEGO series and a spellbinding local co-op addition to the portable home console’s library.

The game’s more straightforward design and focus on puzzle solving makes it stand out a little from more recent Lego games while still featuring the easy to pick-up gameplay and humor every entry is known for. Of course, that simplicity will dissuade some while attracting others, especially those looking for something younger family members can enjoy together. Having two whole games worth of content can also be seen as a double-edged sword depending on how you feel about repetition and collectibles. In short, it’s another solid Lego game with all the good and bad that come with the franchise.

Tons of content is available to play through, all fitting into the niche that TT Games has established for their LEGO franchise titles. Players will get a fun, lighthearted retelling of their favorite movies, all with a LEGO makeover layered on top.

Lego Harry Potter Collection for the Nintendo Switch is a nice, complete edition to the Switch's library.

Almost a decade after its original release, LEGO Harry Potter is feeling the weight of his years. A lack of variety of mechanics and a level of not-so-rich graphic richness are flanked, however, to a carefree and stimulating gameplay.

LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a trustful albeit lazy port of two fun but ultimately obsolete games which fans of the British wizard will probably still love.

OKay this i a quick review so this game is AMAZING the level design is just MWA its like a french chef made this game. When you play this game OKay this i a quick review so this game is AMAZING the level design is just MWA its like a french chef made this game. When you play this game you notice so many little details and things like that and sometimes you're gonna be like "wow i get this game in so many levels" this is no meme review or something this is actually true this game is actually really good and i'm so surprised that it even is. I MEAN imagine if you read the books and you want to watch the movies i tell you TO not watch the movies and play the lego games instead WHY you may ask because this lego game is ten times more faithful to the books than the movies, well there are some parts of the movie in the lego games so then people who watch the movie would understand but they reference the books all the time, so i think you will have a really great time playing this game as a harry potter fan, or even somebody looking for a game they can play and i tell you this game has content LOTS of content and its very worth the price for 40 bucks for this game. I managed to 100% complete lego harry potter years 1-4 in 35 hours ad lego harry years 5-7 40 hours to 100% complete, so you have a total of 75 amazing hours of lego gameplay. BUT sadly the one flaw is the replay value cuz after you 100% complete the game there is no reason to go back but i dont really care since there is so much content so what ever. Years 1-4 are amazing. Years 5-7 have visual lag that's really annoying. Would give a 10 if all 7 years played smooth.

The cinematic scenes Years 1-4 are amazing. Years 5-7 have visual lag that's really annoying. Would give a 10 if all 7 years played smooth.

The cinematic scenes are cute and while there isn't any talking they get the message across. You definitely know what's going on. The level designs are clever and fun. They definitely keep you engaged and entertained. These games are also surprisingly true to the books. While I like the movies I think I liked playing these games more than watching the movies. There is also a lot of game play. I was surprised at how many hours I put into this. … Expand

Even with the advancements done to the formula over the years, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection remains a solid game for fans. Gameplay remains simple enough for kids to enjoy, but the amount of content packed into each title ensures they'll still be working on it long after the campaigns have been finished. The enhancements due to the platform jump aren't truly significant, but they help make an already clean-looking game shine just a tiny bit more. Unless you've played these to death on previous consoles, this is certainly a game that deserves to be checked out by those who still adore the LEGO games without question.

A good remaster for the two LEGO Harry Potter games: the games' structure is a little outdated, if compared to the most recent LEGO games, but going back to Hogwarts is always a pleasure.

Tt Games did a wonderful job with bringing the world of Harry Potter to life through the LEGO Harry Potter Collection and remastering the experience onto the PlayStation 4. The games certainly show their age, but they’re still a blast, especially if you’re a Harry Potter fanatic.

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a fancy-free, funny and robust brickified version of the eight Harry Potter movies. The current asking price of $50 may be a little steep, considering these are 5 year old games without additional content. One to watch once it hits a more comfortable price point. Worth a look, but only if you don't already own the games.

I can only recommend this collection to people who intend to play it with a young Potter fan. Otherwise Lego Star Wars or Lego Hobbit will be a better choice, because these games are simply better. [13/2016, p.49]

A nice comeback, were it not for the bugs and glitches. They were present in the previous versions and, unfortunately, appear to have made the journey to this generation of consoles along with everything else.

If you enjoyed these games the first time and just want more Trophies for your collection, then by all means, jump in a second time. But if you missed LEGO Harry Potter back then, it’s far too rough to come back to now.

Amazing game (which is actually two games, with slightly different setups and gameplay, but both great) - perfect for children who are fans of Amazing game (which is actually two games, with slightly different setups and gameplay, but both great) - perfect for children who are fans of Harry Potter as well as of LEGO. The difficulty is just right. My son (now 7, 6 at the time I bought this game) has completed the game about 8 times, which means hours and hours and hours of play, and is still playing it from time to time. Literally endless play after completing the game, just to unlock rare and expensive characters, and to find and complete all kinds of bonus levels, some of which pays handsomely to buy the characters you want.

Gameplay is great, both in 1-player and 2-player mode, where a more experienced player may assist a younger player. Some of the puzzles and foes require some help to solve/defeat. It's great for non-native English speakers, that there are no English dialogue in the game, that needs to be explained, like in the LEGO Marvel games. The characters simply imply emotions and what else in their facial expressions and grunts/sounds, so that the story gets through, no matter what language one knows.

Great graphics and great mood too in both games. Originally bought this game for the Wii, but after seeing the overall improvements to graphics and sound, just had to buy it for the PS4.

Overall, an awesome purchase. … Expand

I was not that pleased with LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 when I first played it on the Wii. Game-breaking glitches were everywhere and the SD I was not that pleased with LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 when I first played it on the Wii. Game-breaking glitches were everywhere and the SD quality of the Wii made it even less enjoyable. Years 5-7 was much better, but was still a bit rough around the edges.

I can't speak for those who played the original games on the PS3 or Xbox 360, but as for someone who played the Wii versions, this remastered collection is an enormous step-up. After about 5 hours of gameplay, I have yet to encounter a single bug. The game is much smoother, brighter, and overall better looking than before. HP fans who have yet to pick up this game or haven't played it in a few years should definitely try this out.

I'm not sure if I'm in the minority on this or anything but I have found the recent LEGO games, excluding The Force Awakens, to be rather lacking in terms of fun. LEGO Harry Potter Collection is a great reminder of the older LEGO games, which I think were better by far. … Expand

Very fun interesting game. the type of game you buy and play just to chill and get some laughs. Id give it a 7.8 so a 8

I not once experienced a single I just finished getting the platinum trophy for these games, and I have to say it was a very fun experience. I not once experienced a single bug, whilst playing and the experience was quite satisfying. I rarely felt bored, while progressing through the story mode, and exploring the different areas of the Potter universe was a blast. As a fan of the Potter franchise, this game was everyhting I wanted it to be, however if you aren't a fan of Harry Potter, I can't see this game being appealing to you at all. The humour is funny and unexpectedly dark at times, which makes a pleasant playing experience for both young and old fans of the franchise I'm sure. There are many different spells for you to learn, which are all implemented in the game in a fun and engaging manner. One of the downsides I have is that sometimes bosses can feel a little repetitive, as they all have the same core mechanic. Graphically, the game is pretty visually pleasing and you are never turned off by low resolution, or dodgy textures, and I never noticed a single frame drop my whole time playing. Going back and replaying the levels, still feels fun and it didn't feel like a drag, going back to collect all the collectables. For beloved fans of the Potter franchise, this is a must-buy, I'd recommend to fans of other ;ego games or just fans of Lego in general too, however if you're not keen on Potter, I'd recommend you stay away. … Expand
