Some of the finest new Star Wars material in ages turns up in LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace. Cameron checks it out.
With surprisingly little fanfare, and airing whilst Comic-Con 2011 was taking place (when, surely, all good geeks would be away from their TVs), comes the television event of the year, The Padawan Menace, a LEGO Star Wars special that has just graced the Cartoon Network over in the US.
And when I say event, I’m not exaggerating or dealing in extraneous hyperbole. This twenty minute or so slice of animated Star Wars action features a Bantha load of hilarity and memorable moments. It’s an absolute peach! You have to admit, the thought of C-3PO shouting, “Say hello to my metal friends!” as he blasts a Rancor, has your curiosity piqued.
Right from the off, The Padawan Menace is a gag fest that puts the Star Wars specials from Robot Chicken and its lesser cousin, Family Guy, to shame. Star of the piece is Yoda, who delivers his usual Jedi catchphrases but choosing to add “Peace out!” or “Tired of being right all the time, I am” at the end of each ponderous statement. Yoda as a comical persona works extremely well and his characterisation is an utter delight.
The little green one is babysitting some Padawans when he puts them on a tour of the Galactic Senate with everyone’s favourite droids C-3PO and R2-D2. This leads to an on-the-nose commentary about the, and I’m quoting here, “blah blah blah” nature of the Senate scenes (including delegates from the planet Beaurocrotis).

After these moments there’s a parade of the greatest hits, if you like, of the Star Wars galaxy, such as the Cantina, featuring a hilarious Threepio (voiced by Anthony Daniels), Hoth (complete with ticklesome gag featuring Golden Rod unable to understand the LEGO instruction manual for his ship) and Jabba’s Palace, where the droids battle against one another.
Various characters from throughout the saga also pop up, like Obi-Wan, Anakin and Darth Vader himself. This last appearance will, at first, have fans asking, “What the hell is he doing here? This is prequel territory!” But the makers behind this special are clever, oh so clever. Cue an appearance from George Lucas in brick form informing the dark helmeted one that he’s not in the script, resulting in an unhappy Darth.
Technically, The Padawan Menace is spectacular and one wishes that this could have been released theatrically. It’s a joy to the eye, matching the laughs for the brain and heart in every frame. There’s also, as you would imagine, a plethora of Easter eggs and in-gags to look out for such as the Millennium Falcon, Slave-1, numerous advertising billboards and various other iconic Star Wars characters and imagery. It’s clearly made with love and an eye on the fans.
Ultimately, it’s the humour that makes this special such a winner, something devoid in Lucasfilm’s The Star Wars Holiday Special (though it’s unintentionally funny). The range of laughs will please the young (Threepio throwing up into Artoo), the hip (there’s a TV show called Keeping up with the Calrissians) and the old (use of the actual Star Wars “Name Generator”). Without a shadow of a doubt, The Padawan Menace is one of the greatest additions to the saga and one sincerely hopes that this LEGO Star Wars special is not a one-off, but the start of a series.

THE PADAWAN MENACE
Grand Master Yoda has just arrived back on Coruscant from the Outer Rim with a group of Younglings on a field trip. They enter the Senate Building to take a tour, headed by C-3PO and R2-D2. As they walk inside, a young child who had snuck away from an orphanage by shipping himself in a box, emerges from the ship, and joins the group on their tour. Meanwhile, Asajj Ventress is also in the Senate Building, having just stolen secret battle plans with the intention of delivering them to Palpatine and plan an attack on Coruscant.
While on the tour, the young child, now known as "Ian" stirs up trouble, causing C-3PO, R2-D2 and the rest of the younglings to flee into space, where they find themselves in the middle of a battle between Republic and Confederate forces. While avoiding destruction, they accidentally end up on Obi-Wan's Hyperdrive docking ring sending them to Tatooine. Meanwhile, Yoda and Commander Cody battle with Ventress and a small group of battle droids. Ventress is captured but a battle droid escapes with the plans, causing Yoda and Cody to pursue. While in space, it is revealed that Ian had sneaked aboard Yoda and Cody's ship. The droid ship is tracked to Hoth, where Yoda and Ian go after the plans. In the cold, they find a Tauntaun for shelter where they encounter the battle droid with the plans. After recovering the plans, they are attacked by droidekas but manage to escape with the plans after a brief battle.
On Tatooine, C-3PO, R2-D2, and the other younglings look for passage off the planet and back to Coruscant because their ship had been scavenged by Jawas while 3PO had his back turned. After heading to Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina, C-3PO sneaks into it in the hopes of finding a ride, disguised in a cloak so he is not seen as a droid. Meanwhile, the younglings are mistaken for the cantina band. When C-3PO is seen to be a droid, the group is captured and sent to Jabba the Hutt, where the younglings are caged and C-3PO has to fight R2-D2 for Jabba's amusement. After encouragement from the younglings (and a few mind tricks), the two droids help free the children and attempt to escape Jabba's custody. However, they are stopped by the Rancor. Soon after, they are rescued by Ian and Yoda.
Everyone arrives on Coruscant where they are rewarded for bravery. Later, it is revealed that Ian's name is Solo and that the "H" on his name tag was sideways, meaning he is Han Solo.

Synopsis

As they enter, a young child who had snuck away from an orphanage manages to get into the building and joins the group on their tour. Meanwhile, Asajj Ventress is in the Senate Building, having just stolen secret battle plans with the intention of delivering them to Palpatine and plan an attack on Coruscant.
While on the tour, the young child, now known as "Ian" stirs up trouble causing C-3PO, R2-D2, and the rest of the younglings to flee into space, where they find themselves in the middle of a space battle between Republic and CIS forces. While avoiding destruction, and with a quick check in on Anakin Skywalker and General Grievous fighting, they accidentally end up on Obi-Wan's hyperspace ring sending them to Tatooine. During which time Yoda and Commander Cody battle with Ventress and a small group of battle droids.
On Tatooine, C-3PO, R2-D2, and the other younglings look for passage off planet and back to Coruscant after their ship is scavenged by jawas while 3PO had his back turned. After heading to Mos Eisley Cantina C-3PO sneaks in, disguised in a cloak so he is not seen as a droid, in the hopes of finding a ride, meanwhile the younglings are mistaken for the cantina band. When C-3PO is seen to be a droid the group turns to run, but the two droids fall into a wall which Jabba the Hutt is behind. They are captured and sent to Jabba the Hutt where the younglings are caged and C-3PO has to fight R2-D2 for Jabba's amusement. After encouragement from the younglings, the two droids help free the children and escape custody of Jabba.
Ventress is captured but a battle droid escapes on Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator with the plans, causing Yoda and Cody to go into pursuit. While in space it is revealed that Ian had sneaked aboard Yoda and Cody's own T-6 Jedi Shuttle. The Sith Infiltrator was tracked to Hoth where Yoda and Ian go after the plans. In the cold they find a tauntaun for shelter in which they find the battle droid with the plans hiding. After recovering the plans they are attacked by Destroyer Droids, and after a brief battle, (and quick rewiring/rebuilding) escape with the plans and head back to Coruscant, after picking up the others off of Tatooine.
They arrive back on Coruscant where they are rewarded for bravery and in the end it is revealed that Ian's name is Han Solo and that the "H" on his name tag was sideways, while Admiral Ackbar shouts, 'ITS A WRAP!".

«Тебя нет в этой сцене!»
К моменту моего личного знакомство с кинематографической вселенной «Lego», касаемо «Звёздных войн», я уже был знаком с пародиями от «Гриффинов», от «Робоцыпа», от «театра пальцев», а также заценил «Космические яйца».
И «Lego Звездные войны: Падаванская угроза» искренне обрадовал меня. И именно тем поднял мне настроение. События здесь идут не канонические. Вовсе не так всё, как у Лукаса. Вроде и знакомо всё. Но идёт это самое «всё» стремительно быстро. Немножечко сумбурно. Но от этого разве грустнее? Так, например, мы видим привычного Энакина-падавана сражающегося с генералом Гривусом. А, немногим погодя, видим его на Татуине в гоночном поде.
Немало позабавил факт с ломанием «четвёртой стены», где лорд Дарт Вейдер так и норовил попасть в кадр, а Джордж Лукас его всячески одёргивал (смотрите фразу в названии моего текста).
В принципе, тут всё идёт как быстрое сведение эпопеи. Вот Корусант. А вот уже Татуин. Причём на Татуине одновременно соседствуют события из оригинальной трилогии и события из приквелов. И наблюдать за этим как минимум непривычно.
Вот и получается, что Дэвид Скотт, Майкл Прайс (но и Джордж Лукас!) придумали забавную интерпретацию «Звёздных войн».
Вам я советую обязательно ознакомиться с этим конструкторным мультфильмом! Ну а я — погнал за добавкой! «Империя наносит удар» (где-то я такое видел… хотя — не факт).

Да пребудет с вами Lego!
Перед нами произведение из категории: «Для галочки». Наверное, не будь большим и знатным поклонником вселенной «Star Wars», то и руки мои не добрались бы до творения сего. Всего навсего 20 жалких минут с копейками, в течение которых возможно, как повеселиться, так и огорчиться, причем сильно. С одной стороны смысла в данной короткометражной анимационной ленте, как такового, не наблюдается и в помине. Графика Lego иногда порядком надоедает, как и собственно сама картина в общем и целом. Ноль логики. Ноль интриги. Ноль трагизма. Зато до бесконечности много всяческих ностальгических воспоминаний, способных пробудить от зимней спячки совершенно любого фаната «Звездных войн». А это значит что? Да, то и значит, что ностальгия берет свое, тем самым закрывая зловещие глаза даже самого яростного из критиков. Это же «Star Wars»!
Обилие наиболее важных и примечательных персонажей из оригинальных фильмов — есть одно из главных достоинств «Падаванской угрозы». Пусть и больше всего времени уделено не Энакину, или же Люку, а Мастеру Йода, от этого сопровождающий шарм не теряется, а скорее даже приобретает все более новые и новые краски. Жалко вот только старину Дарта Вейдера, которому Лукас так и не захотел дать ключевую роль, то и дело отводя его за кулисы съемок. Печально. Ну да ладно. Визуально — мульт слабый. Спецэффектов нет. Напряженных моментов нет. Сцены битв на световых мечах имеются, но также в ограниченном количестве. По идее, отсюда должен следовать вывод, что отрицательных сторон здесь навалом, и не сказать это — будет чистой ложью. Так что, так или иначе, как бы ностальгия не выручала, но тем не менее положительного отзыва «Lego Звездные войны: Падаванская угроза» не достоин. А вот нейтрального да, вполне.

Вот оно какое наше Лего…)
Совершенно неожиданно узнала, что мультик Империя Наносит Удар — умеет продолжение, точнее приквел — Падаванская Угроза. И вот сразу же включила новую часть! Эмоций — море!
Еще посмотрев предыдущую часть, мы знаем, что создателям есть еще что рассказать о мире ЗВ — пусть и в такой веселой и уморительной форме! Здесь в центре сюжета группа юнлингов, которые просто поехали на экскурсию вместе с Мастером Йодой, который в свою очередь поручил это дело С-3РО и Р2. Нужно учитывать, что детишки путешествуют по Галактике во времена Войны Клонов — они встречают множество персонажей, посещают новые планеты и получают незабываемые впечатления! А тем временем Мастер Йода, коммандер Коди выслеживают дроида, который украл секретные планы. Они должны остановить его любой ценой и разобраться, кто этот мальчишка, который постоянно оказывается в центре событий!
Вот люблю я то, как снимают мультики Лего — с интересным сюжетом, забавными персонажами и отличным юмором! Почти каждую минуту — то веселая фраза, то анекдот, то ситуация… Например: различные появления Палпатина с капюшоном. Или всевозможные каналы на телевизоре, на которых рекламу с очень известными персонажами… Или моменты битвы, которые лихо запечатлены на фотоаппарат одного из юнлингов. А как понравился мне кусочек Новой Надежды с самым главным правилом кантины на Татуине: Дроидов на обслуживаем! Значительно большая роль у Йоды — который оказывается не таким серьезным как в жизни. А также у дроидов — особенно веселил 3РО! Но самые веселые появления — это у Дарта Вейдера, который по идее не должен быть здесь, о чем ему постоянно напоминает Джордж Лукас…
Падаванская угроза — отличный мультик. По юмору, сюжету и персонажам — стоит наравне с Империей. Даже добавилось немного интриги — мы ведь наверняка задаемся вопросом, кто же этот парнишка, который заслужил уважение самого Мастера Йоды! Дождитесь конца, хотя и до него все станет понятно!

Собираем Галактику вместе!
В 1999 году состоялось бизнес-объединение двух мировых лидеров индустрии развлечений — Lego и Lucasfilm. Эти компании сообща стали выпускать непревзойденные детские конструкторы Lego по знаменитой саге Джорджа Лукаса «Звездные войны». Со временем проект перерос свое первоначальное назначение и продолжился в виде отличных видеоигр, книг и уморительных короткометражек! Конечно же, все связанное с конструкторами Lego носит положительный характер. И те люди, которые в свое время играли в игру Lego Star Wars прекрасно знают что основной упор в комедийных ситуациях базируется на пантомиме. Персонажи практически не издают звуков, ну разве что кроме вздохов и охов. Данная особенность перенеслась и на ранние мультфильмы от Lego. В них были простенькие ситуации и небольшой хронометраж. Но одно из последних творений Lego и Lucasfilm добавило новизны в знакомый жанр. А именно — многочисленные диалоги и пристойную продолжительность сюжета. А называется этот проект — «Lego Зваездные войны — Падаванская угроза»!
Сюжет этого неподражаемого мультфильма происходит во времена популярной ныне эпохе в «Звездных войнах» — Войнах клонов. История базируется на том что группа детей, возглавляемая дроидом C-3PO (его как и в фильмах озвучил Энтони Дениэлс) отправляется на столичную планету Корускант с экскурсией. Но среди детей оказывается один непоседа, который сбегает из группы и ищет приключения. По ходу действия он знакомится с мудрым магистром Йодой и помогает ему побороть отряд Сепаратистов. И именно в конце мультфильма мы узнаем имя героя! Чтобы не испортить впечатление, открывать его не стану.
«Lego Зваездные войны — Падаванская угроза» является полностью пародийным проектом вселенной «Звездных войн». И не смотря на то что Lego отошло от традиций и насытило фильм диалогами, смотреть его не становится нуднее. В общем, это неплохая возможность поднять себе настроение и посмеяться над любимыми героями!

Фантастика Lego Звездные войны: Падаванская угроза начали показывать в кино в 2011 году, более 11 лет назад, его режиссером является Дэвид Скотт. Кто снимался в кино: Энтони Дэниелс, Ника Футтерман, Tim Gaul, Том Кэйн, Роберт Мартин Клейн, Фил ЛаМарр, Кэти Ли, Уэйн Пэшли, Роб Полсен, Дэвид Скотт, Марк Хэмилл, Ларри Уорд, Мэттью Вуд.
Производство стран США, Австралия и Дания. Lego Звездные войны: Падаванская угроза — получил среднюю зрительскую оценку от 6,9 до 7,1 балла из 10, что является вполне хорошим результатом.
