The galaxy is yours with LEGO Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga! Play through all nine saga films in a brand-new video game unlike any other. With over 300 playable characters, over 100 vehicles, and 23 planets to explore, the galaxy has never been more fun!

So I got to the quest "C-3P Oh No". I start it and it goes into the cut scene where Rey jumps over Kylos starfighter. At the end of the cutscene it goes to a warp load screen and it just hangs. These load screens usually take about 2-4secs on my computer. I have loaded the save file 5 times. I did it by continue game and I also loaded the specific file. Each time it just hangs in same spot infinitely. I verified files and there were no issues there. Im trying to advance through the chapters. So what a.

After 117 hours of wasting my time as a 17 year old high schooler to maintain a promise I made when I was seven to 100% any Lego game I played. I finally did it today. This game literally took me back in time to where I was playing The Complete Saga on the DS and the Wii. It was a much needed "one last time" event that took me back before become a legal adult.

A long time ago, the announcement of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga got me excited, making it one of my most anticipated titles, but its constant delays made it clear that my galaxy’s visit is still far, far away…

Yet, I remained so patient that even Yoda blissfully shivered from my accomplishment.

Was it worth the wait? Absolutely.

By portraying all three trilogies, The Skywalker Saga provides a coherent, entertaining storyline filled with humorous twists and quips that never become boring. Truly. Not only that it feels like a complete, parodying recreation, but it also comes up with its own jabs that even make fun of some of the decisions made in each instalment; thus, even horrendous episodes like Attack of the Clones or The Last Jedi are enjoyable. Moreover, it inspires itself by the popular Star Wars memes, which is a nice touch as it underlines its dedication to the fandom.

As it is an action-adventure title – from a tighter third-person perspective this time – the usual gameplay loop revolves around exploring, platforming, hoarding all the collectables and, of course, fighting. When you are not directly following the story, you can just venture away and explore the universe on your own. However, do not expect a seamless open world; instead, it consists of a bunch of playable areas in each system. I would say it is better that way because the locations are designed with care to provide just enough content without overwhelming you.

That leads us to the combat, which surprisingly has a lot of depth when compared to an average LEGO game. For sure, it is still pretty effortless, so do not expect any hardships or obstacles in your way. There are, however, several possibilities to use, as apart from mashing one button, you can engage in various combos that make encounters more fun and satisfying to observe. Whether you viciously slice through a bunch of Clones with Maul’s double-bladed lightsaber, blast everyone’s heads off with Boba Fett’s carbine rifle, or slap others as C-3PO, you know it is going to be a joyful time. And if that does not convince you, then undulating around as Mamma the Hutt, licking everyone in the process, should do so!

Additionally, the absence of online cooperative play is saddening. Even though you can use Steam’s Remote Play, it is not enough, mainly because every progress made counts only for the host while your friends gain nothing. That is weird and discouraging, as you suddenly cannot use the characters and abilities you unlocked but rely purely on your friend’s ones. Also, doing all the collectables twice does not sound that appealing either.

Where The Skywalker Saga beautifully shines is its audiovisual presentation. Simply put, it is top-notch. All the planets with their iconic locations are glamorous to lie your eyes on, and all the ships, even the capital ones or Death Star itself, are made purely of LEGO bricks, which nicely distinguish them from the rest of the environment. Just galavanting through the deserts of Tatooine or the city of Theed, listening to its iconic themes is heartwarming.

Another nice touch is the presence of some of the original trilogy’s actors, who reprise their roles, like Anthony Daniels as C-3PO or Billy Dee Williams as Lando. You can also hear a few familiar voices from the animated The Clone Wars show. Naturally, not everyone could be present, but the attempt still shows the dedication put into this project. Moreover, the number of additional monologues and even dialogues between numerous characters is astonishing; even Darth Vader and Kylo Ren have their small talk, and at times, they might even perform an amusing animation when you let them stand in place for a while. The love and care just jump at you at every bricky corner you pass by.

That would be perhaps the best summary for The Skywalker Saga.

Overall, I adore this title, as it is a special experience that managed to awake an inner child in me, a kid that enjoyed watching the films over and over again. The humorous nature and relaxing gameplay make for an excellent combination. Yes, some aspects could have been a tad bit better; however, that does not take away the dozens of hours of fun I had. Thus, I can wholeheartedly recommend it to any Star Wars enthusiast.

Now excuse me; I still have a few collectables to find.

PC Specs and Performance

I played it with an i5 8300H, GTX 1060 6GB, and 16GB RAM, at high settings, at 35-60 frames per second, at 1920x1080 resolution. Some of those frame drops only occurred on specific locations, like Endor or D’Qar, so I assume it has to do something with the forest environment and background since other planets ran smoothly.

Official Description

The galaxy is yours in LEGO® Star Wars™: The Skywalker Saga. In this brand-new game, players will experience memorable moments and nonstop action from all nine Skywalker saga films reimagined with signature LEGO humor. The game will immerse players in the expansive saga with the freedom to control hundreds of characters, ships and vehicles to create their own unique journey through the galaxy.

Gameplay

At the start of the game, players can decide with which trilogy they want to start: The prequel-trilogy with Episode I - The Phantom Menace; the original-trilogy with Episode IV - A New Hope; or the sequel-trilogy with Episode VII - The Force Awakens. The next episode from every trilogy is unlocked by completing the story line of the previous one. Every episode features five main story missions, making it a total of 45 story missions. The combat system had a rework from previous installments, such as characters with lightsabers are now able to use a variety of combos, while aiming with a blaster will now put you in a over-the-shoulder camera view.

Unlike LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, the game doesn't feature a main hub area like the Mos Eisley Cantina, but an open-world featuring many widely explorable planets, moons and iconic Star Wars landmarks. Some big ships like Star Destroyers and the Death Star also feature an explorable interior. The open-world features various side missions and random encounters, like Star Destroyers jumping out of hyperspace, sending TIE fighters after the player, which players can fight or flee.

The game features many collectibles, such as the in previous games established Minikits, or the newly introduced data cards and kyber bricks. The kyber bricks are used to upgrade the new skill tree, which features various upgrades to the different character classes: Jedi, Dark Side, Hero, Villain, Scavenger, Scoundrel, Bounty Hunter, Astromech Droid, Protocol Droid, Extra. Each class has different and unique abilities, which can be upgraded using the skill tree. Data cards are very rare, and are used to unlock different extras such as mumble mode.

While many new things have been added to the game in comparison to previous titles, the character customization tool has been removed.

Missions

The game features a variety of different types of missions, such as story levels, side missions, puzzles, trials or challenges.

Story levels

The game features 45 main story missions. Every story mission has 6 kyber bricks to gain: one for finishing the level, three for gathering enough studs and the "True Jedi" title, one for collecting all five minikits in a level, and one for completing all of the three unique level challenges that are featured in every level.

How to unlock Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga characters

Struggling with scavengers? Here's how to use the Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Scavenger ability

You’ll unlock Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga characters by a combination of playing through the story and completing optional side activities, like side missions, trials, and challenges. There are also a few that are unlocked with Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga cheats. When looking at the character lists in the Characters menu, any character icon that has been fully revealed means it’s a character you have unlocked and can play as. If the icon is a silhouette, that means you need to pay some Studs to unlock them – select the character to see many Studs they cost to buy!

Finally, a character icon that has a padlock over it means the character is locked for now, so you’ll unlock them or the ability to buy them with Studs later. You can buy a rumour to reveal a hint about how you can unlock them, but we recommend that you don’t do this unless you’ve played through the whole game – you’ll unlock loads of characters simply just by playing the story.

Any small blue padlocks or white dots surrounding a character’s icon represent different outfits they can wear – for example Obi-Wan Kenobi has six outfits that show his changing appearance from Episodes I to III. These costumes are also unlocked through story progress and side activities.

DLC Characters

All Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga DLC Characters

There are 40 extra DLC characters available, including characters from spin-off films, television series, and classic Lego sets, although they are split across seven character packs. To get these characters, you can buy each DLC character pack individually - all the packs are available now, by the way - or you can buy the Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Character Character Collection which is a bundle of all the packs.

Digital pre-orders also include classic Obi-Wan Kenobi as a playable character, however, it doesn't look like he is obtainable at all in-game or as part of the Classic Character pack.
