How to Make a Minifigure Walk

Want to learn how to make your Stormtroopers™ march? In this video, Forrest Whaley demonstrates the process of creating a minifigure walk in stop motion animation. It can help to watch how people walk to get the movements down. When you put one leg forward, swing the opposite arm of the minifigure forwards. With each movement, shift the torso just a little bit to make it look a little more realistic. Then, once you’ve created this small walking loop, you can repeat it! Check out the video for a full tutorial.

Make it move

Simple movements can make big changes to photos. Try out different ways to make your scenery move around your models or find ways to make your models move on their own! Fishing line can be a great tool to make things look like they’re floating and moving on their own.

How to Build a Background

One really cool way to add depth, light and movement into your Brick Film is to use a projection in the background. In this video, Forrest Whaley teaches you about a rear screen projection and how he uses animation and a projector to make his backgrounds move. You can do this in your own home by using a computer, tv or tablet screen in the background!

Try a hand-drawn Hunter™

Try your skills at drawing a speedy scene from The Bad Batch™ featuring Hunter™. Get a good look at your hoverbike and minifigure, then start drawing! First you will want to draw everything down in pencil. Pay attention to any details. For this base layer it’s OK to make mistakes! Also, fill in the surrounding page with things like motion lines and dust to make it look like your bike is speeding! Next, outline everything in a thin black marker and then the outer-most line with a thicker black marker. When it comes to color, be sure to use different hues to build shadows and highlights in your drawing. It’s those details that really bring it to life. To make your bike hover, add a hoverbike-shaped shadow below your drawing. The darker the shadow, the lower it looks to the ground. Finally, push those highlights with a white paint pen or colored pencil.

Creating a LEGO® diorama, or Brickorama, is a great way to show off your building skills while also telling a story captured in time. 9492 TIE Fighter is a Classic Star Wars set released in 2012. It includes redesigned TIE Fighter Pilot and Death Star Trooper minifigures, along with an Imperial Officer and an all-new Astromech Droid, R5-J2.

Description [ edit ]

The set consists of a single model, that of a TIE fighter. The main body of the vehicle is shaped like a sphere, with branches connecting to the 'wings'. Inside the sphere is a space for a minifigure to sit and pilot the vehicle. The top of the cockpit can open, allowing playability inside the model. The cockpit inside has several details, such as computer screens and levers. Underneath the cockpit is placed a pair of red-tipped flick-fire missiles, which can be launched from the back. The cockpit's extensions eventually flare out and connect to the two massive, hexagonal wings, or solar panels. These are built with mainly black pieces, although light grey is featured as detailing.

Four minifugures are also included: that of the astromech droid R5-J2, a TIE Fighter Pilot, a Death Star Trooper, and an Imperial Officer. All of these contain printing and accessories normal to their respective types.

Notes [ edit ]

• The set features the eighth incarnation of a TIE Fighter. and the fifth to be minifigure-scaled. This version is the first to adapt to the same stone grey patterning of recent TIE fighters, such as 8017 Darth Vader's TIE Fighter.
• This is the first, and so far only, set to include R5-J2.
• The Death Star Trooper's helmet is redesigned.
• The Imperial Officer has black hand pieces to look like gloves.
• The TIE fighter appears on the front page of the official Autumn 2011 LEGO catalogue in the background.
• The Death Star Trooper has a two-sided printed face; one side features him with a grimace and a chin-strap, while the other side has the same with goggles as well

  9492 TIE Fighter | Mon avis sur le set (avis non objectif d'un FDBM)

  Voilà un set que j'attends depuis fort longtemps et qui sera à n'en pas douter l'un des grands succès de la gamme LEGO Star Wars 2012. Je pense même que nombreux seront ceux qui l'achèteront en de mutiples exemplaires pour se constituer une petite escadrille.

  Il est en effet doté d'un design innovant et beaucoup plus fidèle aux films que ne l'étaient ses versions précédentes des sets 7146 TIE Fighter (2001), 7152 TIE Fighter & Y-wing (2002) et 7262 Tie Fighter (2005), malheureusement tous de bleu vêtus.

  A cette version très joliment revue et corrigée s'ajoutent pas moins de 4 minifigurines très sympathiques et particulièreent fidèles à la trilogie originale, dont deux inédites qui font de ce set un incontournable !
  Ce Tie Fighter est accompagné d'un TIE Fighter Pilot, un nouveau Death Star Trooper, un droid R5-J2 (doté d'un nouveau dôme) et un Imperial Officer.

  Il a d'ores et déjà rejoint ma grande collection LEGO Star Wars et retrouvé les sets 8017 Darth Vader's TIE Fighter et 6206 TIE Interceptor. Ce dernier méritera quant à lui un beau relooking pour lui donner une belle robe noire et grise, voire une refonte complète basée sur le cockpit du 9492 TIE Fighter !
