Description
This version of the TIE Fighter measures 18.5” (47 cm) high, 12” (30.6 cm) long and 12.2” (31 cm) wide. It consists of 1685 pieces. It includes a display stand with a plaque with the TIE Fighter's specifications, and a space to display the exclusive TIE pilot included in the set.
Background
Twin Ion Engine/Ln Starfighters, or just TIE Fighters, are among the most numerous spacecraft in the Galactic Empire's fleet. Measuring 8.99m long, they consist of a ball shaped cockpit connected to two large wings. The wings are actually solar panels which power the ship. The Empire considers TIE Fighters expendable assets, as they are cheap to produce. Also, countless TIE Fighters are destroyed in battles, as they have no shields or life support. The exclusion of landing gear teaches pilots to rely completely on a higher authority while also lightening the ship to execute more precise maneuvers. Because all TIE Fighters are identical, captured ones are sometimes utilized by Rebels to infiltrate Imperial bases and the like.

Центральное место в конструкции отведено сферическому командному кокону, окружённому бронированными пластинами. В нём располагается кабина пилота, прикрытая непробиваемым круглым стеклом. Чтобы поместить пилота внутрь кабины, а также рассмотреть приборную панель с датчиками и рычагами управления, необходимо воспользоваться открывающимся верхним люком. Задняя часть командного кокона представляет собой ходовую часть истребителя, состоящую из солнечного ионизационного реактора и спаренной системы ионных двигателей. Вооружение боевого корабля сосредоточено под кабиной пилота. Две синхронизированные лазерные пушки прекрасно подходят для ведения ближнего боя и нанесения максимальных повреждений кораблям противника. По обе стороны от кабины видны специальные выносные опоры, служащие прочными креплениями для симметричных крыльев. Каждое крыло состоит из шести сегментов солнечных батарей, соединённых лучами-распорками. Этот энергетический комплекс поглощает солнечную радиацию и питает все системы истребителя.
Размер истребителя TIE в собранном виде составляет 47х31х31 см.
Также в наборе Вы найдёте демонстрационную панель с описанием реальных характеристик Имперского истребителя, эксклюзивную минифигурку пилота и подставку-держатель. Закреплённый на ней истребитель может вращаться вокруг своей оси, давая возможно рассмотреть все особенности масштабной модели.
Следует отметить, что модель истребителя выпущена в формате UCS (Ultimate Collectors Series) с маркировкой «14 +». Это значит, что из-за своей невероятной ценности и хрупкости данный артикул предназначен только для стендовой демонстрации и не подходит для активной игры.
