Since 1999 there have been over ten X-Wing models created (not including micro sets or Microfighters). We are going to provide a synopsis and comparison to decide which is the best LEGO X-Wing and which has the most value.
For many, the X-wing Fighter is the boldface of the rebellion. It is a benchmark of the Star Wars franchise, and that is why in 1999 LEGO chose it to be the very first Star Wars set to be released.
Using modern techniques and updated bricks, LEGO has continued to release variable and improved X-Wing sets since 1999 with the most recent release of the 75301 model in March 2021 .
X-Wing Fighter 7140 (1999)
This was the very first Star Wars LEGO set to ever be released and was the front-page star of the 1999 LEGO catalogue. It came with 263 pieces, 4 minifigures, and a fun comic book with alternate builds!
The pieces were all printed and required no additional stickers be added to the model. This original LEGO X-Wing featured a Utility Train with one car to shuttle pilots, and one car containing 6 tools.
The main fighter build has 2 storage compartments located at the front of the ship and behind R2-D2’s spot. The 4 mini-figures included in the set are a Rebel Mechanic, R2-D2 the Astro-mech droid, Luke Skywalker (lightsaber included), and Luke’s childhood friend from Tatooine Biggs Darklighter.
X-Wing Fighter 7191 (2000)
This X-wing was released in the year 2000 as one of the first two Star Wars sets in the Ultimate Collector Series. The UCS set came with 1,304 pieces, a scale model of R2-D2, a stand for the X-Wing, and a description card.
The wings of the fighter can shift between attack or rest position and boasts a 20-inch wingspan. The set would be a worth display piece in any household due to its intricate details.
X-Wing Fighter 7142 (2002)
This was a 2002 re-release of the 7140 model. There are no variations from the original model it was just so good they released it twice.
X-Wing Fighter 4502 (2004)
This model was the only one to depict Luke’s crash on Dagobah, and to include a Yoda mini-figure from The Empire Strikes Back.
It consisted of 563 individual pieces, 3 mini-figures, and Yoda’s hut. The 3 mini-figures are Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, and Yoda. The Luke mini-figure is considered very special because he is in his Dagobah training clothes, a minifigure only available in this set up until the recent release of the 2018 Yoda’ Hut set.
The actual fighter features a gear that allowed the wings to move up and down plus it is the only model to include swamp algae for improved accuracy. Yoda’s hut comes with his bed, a glass, and a special secret compartment. This X-wing model is remarkably unique and as such, it is very valuable, a must-have for any serious enthusiasts or collectors.
X-Wing Fighter 6212 (2006)
This LEGO X-wing Fighter includes 437 pieces, 6 very well-known mini-figures, and interchangeable pieces allowing you to switch between two different X-wings.
The mini-figures are Luke Skywalker (pilot), Wedge Antilles, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and of course R2-D2. The interchangeable pieces are specific panelling that allows you to switch between Luke’s Red 5 X-wing, and Wedge’s Red 2 X-wing.
X-Wing StarFighter 9493 (2012)
This LEGO X-wing Starfighter comes packed with all kinds of additional features, and special characters. The model has 560 pieces, 4 mini-figures, adjustable wings, landing gear that retracts, functional cockpit, and proton torpedoes.
The gear for adjusting the wings is much easier to operate than in previous models. The proton torpedoes are regrettably not flick-fire, but still, make a wonderful addition to the set.
The total length of the X-wing measures just over 12 inches. The 4 mini-figures included in the set are Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Jek Porkins, and R5-D8. This is the only time the mini-figure Jek Porkins appears in a set.
This is an awesome build of the X-wing and includes so many additional features and unique characters. Anyone would be lucky to have this to add to their fleet of Star Wars ships.
Red Five X-Wing Starfighter 10240 (2013)
Another addition to the Ultimate Collector Series, this Starfighter boasts immaculate detail with 1,559 pieces, a display stand plus info card, and the ever-present R2-D2 mini-figure.
The newly developed joints and pieces that have been created since the previous UCS set (7191) make this the most detailed X-wing yet. The model does have a cockpit that will open, and the adjustable wings are controlled by a gear in the back.
The LEGO pieces are not all printed so a steady hand for applying stickers are required. LEGO has improved the overwhelming colour scheme from the previous model, but some collectors still felt the need to paint it completely grey. This is another incredibly detailed model that will make any collector very happy to add to their collection.
Poe’s X-Wing Fighter 75102 (2013)
The main feature that makes this X-wing stand out from the rest is its unique colouring of a Halloween shade of orange and black. This is also the first X-wing model released as a part of The Force Awakens line signifying the end of an era in pre-Disney Star Wars LEGO.
The model contains 717 pieces and includes spring-fired proton torpedoes and a cockpit piece that is printed and unique to this set. The gear system that shifts the wings into attack mode has also been moved to the top of the fighter.
The 4 mini-figures that accompany this X-wing are Poe Dameron, BB-8, a Resistance X-wing pilot, and a Resistance ground crewman. There is also a Utility Train like in the original set for performing maintenance on your X-wing. This is a wildly iconic X-wing set because of all the drastic changes to the status quo making it a very exciting build.
Resistance X-Wing Fighter 75149 (2016)
Another drastic colour change from the original X-wing design leaves this spacecraft looking blue, literally! Now, this is the exact same core design as Poe’s X-wing fighter with 740 pieces and some exciting changes to the build.
The major adjustment to the base model of this X-wing is the removable hyperdrive located near the rear of the craft. Instead of another Utility Vehicle, a collapsible moisture evaporator where flames pop up when it goes down is included.
This is another creative build from the new era of Star Wars Lego sets, and it will have you burning with excitement to assemble it.
X-Wing StarFighter 75218 (2018)
This instalment in the X-wing series released in August of 2018 includes the most features and goodies along with it. LEGO pays homage to the original X-wing model design by returning to the traditional grey and red colour scheme.
They also included 3 familiar mini-figures from the original model as well with 1 new mini-figure to add to the set. The added features to this X-wing are huge and include a new lever system to adjust the wings into attack mode, a fire extinguisher behind the cockpit seat, and stud shooters on the side of the craft.
A cockpit that opens and retractable landing gear is now standard with all recent X-wings and this trend will continue for all new sets. The 3 familiar mini-figures in this set are Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, and Biggs Darklighter with the new addition to the crew being another droid named R2-Q2.
This set does require stickers to be applied for decoration and it allows you to switch between Luke’s Red 5 X-wing and Bigg’s Red 3 X-wing.
75235 X-Wing Starfighter Trench Run (2019)
A set designed for ages 4 and up you can understand why this X-Wing is pretty basic looking. Like many of the sets made in the Juniors line this set comes with the ship itself as well as a mini build, in this case a gun turret or cannon from the Death Star Trench run.
The set has 132 pieces but does include 3 minifigures. These are Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and a Stormtrooper. A great set to for a young LEGO Star Wars fan.
75273 Poe Dameron’s X-Wing Fighter (2020)
With a whole new design, the brand new Poe Dameron’s X-Wing is completely different from that of the conventional X-Wing used by the Rebellion. This X-Wing ( the T-70) used by Poe Dameron in Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, not only sports a brand new colour deco but it also has changed in terms of the design. This X-Wing has larger engines which split when the wings are open. It makes for a different build than you may be used to utilising different types of bricks.
The minifigure selection includes Poe Dameron himself, Jenna, one of the Knight of Ren and R2-D2.
This style LEGO X-Wing will be a new building experience and includes some pretty cool play features. The ship itself is very ‘swooshable’ and there is an easy-to-access lever which controls the S-Foils.
The slot for the droid can fit an R2 unit or a ball-shaped droid such as BB-8. Also included are both spring-loaded missiles and stud shooters for that extra battle experience. The set includes a printed cockpit but also makes use of sticker.
Overall, this is a fantastic looking set.

75297 Resistance X-wing Starfighter (2021)
Very similar to the 2019 Juniors X-wing, this set is designed for the younger Star Wars fan. Based off of the X-wings in the The Rise of Skywalker this set includes a really good Poe Dameron minifigure and BB-8. So even adult collectors that wouldn’t normally be interested in the set, will want to buy it purely for the Poe Dameron minifigure. The set has 60 pieces and looks very basic.
75301 Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing Fighter (2021)
Although this particular X-Wing Fighter is smaller than previous standard sets its still a great looking model and fun build. With just 474 pieces it could be described as a more basic build but still manages to include all the main features of previous sets.
The X-wing features an opening cockpit with room for one minifigure, space for R2-D2, wings that can be switched to attack position, retractable landing gear and 2 spring-loaded shooters. The set also includes Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and General Dodonna LEGO minifigures. With General Dodonna being the pick of of the bunch to perfectly recreate famous scenes from Star Wars: A New Hope.

Final Summary
We have finished this detailed review of all the X-wing LEGO sets and it is time to hand out the awards and make our recommendations. The Red Five X-wing Starfighter 10240 hands down wins the award for most detailed with 1559 pieces and the colour issue being resolved from the previous UCS set. This is a must for serious collectors and any AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO), however, I would not recommend it for young children.
The mini-figure award goes out to the X-wing Fighter 4502 depicting Luke’s crash on Dagobah. This set includes the unique Luke Skywalker mini-figure in his Dagobah Jedi training uniform.
Finally, the best set for a young Star Wars fan is the Resistance X-wing Starfighter 75149. This model has all the sharp looks and cool features of the most recent LEGO sets with recognisable and fun characters from the new Star Wars movies.
LEGO kicked off 2021 by launching a collection of new kits, including a handful of new Star Wars models. Today, we’re starting to go hands-on with the entire lineup of builds from a galaxy far, far away by taking a look at the latest version of the X-Wing. After receiving an all-new, more affordable design and some exclusive new minifigures, how will LEGO’s most recent attempt at the classic starfighter stack up? Head below for a closer look and all of our thoughts on the new LEGO 2021 X-Wing.
Hands-on with the refreshed LEGO X-Wing
The X-Wing Starfighter may very well be the most recognizable vehicle from the Star Wars universe, and LEGO has now debuted its most recent version to start off 2021. LEGO always likes to have an X-Wing on store shelves. After all, it’s one of the most iconic things from the entire Star Wars universe. But how does the most recent implementation stack up?
This time around, LEGO is taking a different approach to its latest X-Wing with a slimmed-down design that’s notably smaller than the previous version in both part count and overall size. Clocking in at 474 pieces, it’s still the largest of the new LEGO Star Wars kits, but is a scaled-down version of the iconic ship in just about every sense.
A closer look at what’s included
The design tweak and new direction for the Star Wars theme comes with its perks, but isn’t without some drawbacks. There’s plenty to praise about the latest version of the X-Wing, as well as some areas where LEGO didn’t quite live up to its usual standards for the starfighter.
But first, we’ll start with all of the good things about the latest LEGO X-Wing. Those who already have a version of the ship in their collection are sure to notice the smaller design here, which more effectively utilizes pieces to assemble the starfighter.
It seems a bit strange to say, but LEGO has actually managed to shrink the model in a way that’s more accurate in comparison to the onscreen inspiration. At least when scaled for minifigures, that is. The engines in particular have been a bit too large over the past few iterations, and here LEGO scales them back to be more true to actual design.
Following from the smaller design comes the more affordable price point, which is surely one of the set’s strongest points. For as strong as the LEGO X-Wing is as a set, everything is amplified by how much less expensive it is compared to previous models. But more on how good of an actual value this set is in a moment.
There’s also an all-new mechanism at the center of the build here to pull off the X-Wing’s signature X design. In the past, LEGO has leveraged some rubber bands and an overall clunky build to lock the S-Foils into attack position, but here there’s a much simpler assembly of Technic bricks to achieve a similar effect.
Actually, it’s a much better effect this time around. LEGO’s refreshed design allows the wings to open in a noticeably smoother fashion. And when you close them, the wings don’t just snap right into place. So when you land the starfighter, everything eases back into place.
It’s not without some drawbacks, though
The more budget-conscious design isn’t without its drawbacks, as LEGO’s refined approach ultimately yields a design that’s not quite as display-worthy as previous versions of the iconic starfighter.
On the flip side of the model having more accurate overall size, the smaller build means that other authentic aspects had to be excluded. They’re generally small omissions, like the lack of retractable landing gear, but inclusions we’ve seen previously that are missing nonetheless.
The trade-offs aren’t purely cosmetic either, as the underlying structure of the build isn’t nearly as sturdy as we’ve seen in the past. It isn’t exactly fragile, but younger builders may very well find it doesn’t survive through more intense swooshing sessions.
Then there are some areas where LEGO attempted to be more accurate, but the translation from the Lucas Film vault to its latest brick-built form just isn’t quite right. The nose is a spot-on example of this, as it’s close to nailing the look, but is a bit too bulky underneath and connected to the rest of the starfighter with some techniques that throw off the overall look.
My last gripe with the new design is arguably the most noticeable, as R2-D2 doesn’t quite fit into the build as well as we’ve come to expect from LEGO X-Wing in the past. The new mechanism and smaller size leaves less hollowed-out space to achieve the play feature, but it’s something that I think even builders without as critical an eye as myself will notice. It’s far from a dealbreaker, but just another mark on an otherwise pretty solid report.
LEGO delivers on the minifigures
Alongside the X-Wing itself, LEGO is including a refreshed selection of minifigures this time around for the new 2021 model. Of course, you’ll still find a pilot version of Luke Skywalker alongside R2-D2, which have become something of a staple for kits like this. Both Luke and R2 are the same versions of that we’ve been seeing for quite some time from recent kits. But with LEGO really hitting it out of the park with the latest pilot design, there’s no complaints here. As for the second pair of characters here, LEGO is mixing things up with two rare inclusions.
In the past, LEGO has opted to include a second X-Wing pilot and astromech droid like Biggs Darklighter or some other named Rebel from the Star Wars universe. But here, LEGO is leaning into the A New Hope theming here to offer two minifigures from the original film that aren’t exactly affiliated with X-Wings.
First up, we have a Princess Leia minifigure that has only appeared in a single other set before. Donning her iconic white robe seen in Episode IV, this exact printing and design was only previously included in 2019’s Tantive IV. And now that the set has been retired, this is another way to score the figure. Not to emotion a more affordable way at that.
And in an even rarer occurrence, LEGO is introducing an all-new character into its Star Wars theme with the 2021 X-Wing in the form of General Dodonna. Sporting a khaki coat with printing that continues down onto the legs, this minifigure has some nice included details that make it worth the wait. Considering we’re into the 22nd year of the Star Wars theme, it’s great to see LEGO finally include the character.
Should you buy it?
Clocking in at $49.99, the latest 2021 version of the LEGO X-Wing is quite a solid kit all around. The part per dollar breakdown only further accentuates that, with the new starfighter entering at just over $0.10 per brick. That makes it a pretty exceptional value considering you’re getting the four minifigures here, including a pair of exclusive ones.
Whether or not you should buy it ultimately comes down to whether you already have an X-Wing in your collection. Believe it or not, this is one of the first versions of the starfighter I’ve picked up in years, aside from the Christmas version. So it particularly caught my eye as a chance to finally grab a modern version of the kit. But if you already have one, it really depends on whether the figures are worth the cash.

X-Wing kicks off LEGO’s new focus on making more affordable sets, and the first flagship of the winter 2021 wave is a good look at the compromises that are being made now, and likely those that’ll be made again. The emphasis on a lower price tag is going to make this a massive hit with builders, and the fact that LEGO actually delivered on a solid model makes that even more of the case.
So while we’ve seen more faithful recreations of the starfighter in the past, this is easily the best value to date for bringing a LEGO X-Wing to your collection.

80025: Sandy's Power Loader Mech / Механический костюм Сенди
Начнём с новинок немного сумасшедшей серии «Манки Кид», которые должны поступить в продажу уже с первого июля. Вся серия очень яркая и нестандартная (видимо это какая-то тенденция сейчас, вспомним серию Vidiyo) и направленная главным образом на Азиатскую публику. Что касается набора – тут четко прослеживается попытка привнести в серию продаваемые идеи других серий. Например, такие механические костюмы встречаются в Супергеройском направлении по комиксам, и скорее всего хорошо покупаются детьми. Могу даже предположить, что «Манки Пацан» переживает не лучшие финансовые времени и вскоре серию закроют (но это не точно).
80026: Pigsy's Noodle Tank / Лапше-Танк Свинки
Вот он яркий представитель серии. Лапшичный танк за рулём которого повар-свинья, а противник злобный робот панда + квадрокоптер с двумя винтами не подчиняющийся никаким законам физики и вполне себе летающий. Вот такая вот неразбериха происходит в большинстве наборов, и от этого она и интересна!
А теперь давайте посмотрим на сам танк – это огромная тарелка-кухня с меню, гигантскими палочками, передвигающаяся на гусеницах имеющая спереди орудие для зомби-апокалипсиса или же сельхоз работ и снабженная рукой манипулятором с каким-то лазером и автоматической свинопушкой. Любопытно не так ли? Деталей: 662 шт, цена: 60 $ (около 5500 рублей)
80028: The Bone Demon / Костяной Демон
А вот и флагманский набор серии, который показывает нам совсем новых злодеев (может быть новый сезон мультсериала?) Костяные демоны и костяные призраки оседлавшие какое-то здоровенное чудовище (считаю, что набор полностью провалится на Востоке потому что в Китае запрещены кости и вот это вот всё, так что набор даже на рынок не допустят). А вот я очень люблю всякое такое фэнтезийное. (но покупать его конечно не буду).
Мне кажется, что «Манки Кид» - свежая и смелая серия, которая привносит безумные и яркие идеи в прагматичную датскую TLG, но у серии есть немало минусов – только крупные наборы, заточка на Азию, паразитирование на успешных идеях, не все любят безумные наборы (лапшетанк, огонь из всех орудий!). Но наборы очень привлекают внимание, например, у этого огромного демона внушительное количество светящихся в темноте деталей, руки и головы призраков тоже светятся – отличный ресурсный набор для коллекционеров и достойный флагман! Деталей: 1375 шт, цена: 120 $ (примерно 11500 рублей)
75310: Duel on Mandalore / Дуэль на Мандалоре
Переходим к старому доброму Стар Варсу. Забегая вперёд могу сказать, что в новой волне августовских наборов (всё ЗВ выйдет 1 августа) будут новинки по последнему сезону Войн Клонов (7 сезон) и по Мандалорцу, идут они вперемешку, поэтому начинаем!
75311: Imperial Armoured Marauder / Имперский Бронированный Мародёр
Набор довольно скучный, перед нами наземный челнок, из одной из серий Мандалорца, который в конце концов угнал Гриф Карга и сражался против отрядов имперских штурмовиков. Несмотря на маленькую конструкцию, перед нами все-таки очередная техника, да ещё и Имперская! А наличие в наборе редких фигурок (сам Гриф и Имперский офицер), а также полезных в массовке штурмовиком сделают набор довольно востребованным. Деталей: 478 шт, цена: 40 $ (примерно 3500 рублей в магазинах)
75312: Boba Fett's Starship / Звездолёт Бобы Фетта
Безусловно из такого небольшого количества деталей толковый звездолёт не сделать, но такой задачи и не стояло – нужно сделать похоже и узнаваемо, чтобы покупали. А еще и добавить в набор самого известного Охотника за Головами прошлого и будущего, словно подсолить блюдо. На выходе получаем привлекательный продукт для покупателей. Деталей: 592 шт, цена: 50 $ (4500 рублей в магазинах)
75315: Imperial Light Cruiser / Имперский Звездный Крейсер
Что касается набора – то тут абсолютный успех! Многие коллекционеры любят свежую военную техники Звездных Войн, размеры у корабля как у Звездного разрушителя, а фигурки в наборе и вовсе присутствуют уникальные – это стопроцентный секрет «как стать бестселлером». Кстати темный световой меч на мой взгляд выглядить СОВЕРШЕННО не так как должен. У оригинала угловатая и тёмная рукоять, а лезвие плоское, а не круглое. Жаль, что сделали «на отвали».
Деталей: 1336 шт, цена: 160 $ (примерно 15000 рублей) Отдельно хочется поговорить про цену. Взгляните в начало статьи, на флагманский набор серии «Пацан-обезьянин», столько же деталей, столько же фигур, но цена на 40 $ меньше (а это извините 3500 рублей, цена хорошего, крепкого среднего набора) именно столько забирает себя лицензия Disney (жадный Микки). Просто удивительно и даже обидно! *Monkie Kid – серия, сделанная компанией TLG усилиями собственных дизайнеров, а Star Wars – по договору франшизы. Лицензионные серии всегда были дороже, но что НАСТОЛЬКО, я осознал только сейчас.
Прямиком из 1999 года – живая классика, культовый звездолёт Альянса Повстанцев: Крестокрыл джедая Люка Скайуокера из четвёртого эпизода «Новая Надежда». Через пару часов состоится нападение на Звезду Смерти, а сейчас корабль нужно привести в порядок.
Предисловие:
Сегодня (в день выхода обзора), 4 мая весь мир (читай все Гики) празднует день Звездных Войн. Как всегда, в эту дату стараюсь порадовать Вас чем-то особенным из моей коллекции. На этот раз покажу Вам любимый многими и абсолютно культовый звездный истребитель X-Wing, в простонародье Крестокрыл. А ещё увидим, что всё новое – это хорошо забытое старое!

Коробка и её содержимое:
К сожалению коробки от набора у меня нет, но в интернете хватает изображений. Как мы видим в те счастливые годы дизайн упаковки был даже интересней, чем сейчас – прекрасный проработанный фон, красивый золотой шрифт и множество дополнительных фотографий практически на всех поверхностях! Сзади имеются изображения двух альтернативных моделей, которые я решил не собирать.
Перед Вами изображения большей части редких деталей набора. Т.к. приобретал я конструктор в Б/у виде – мне не повезло, и несколько уникальных деталей у меня отсутствуют (вторая красно-серая, уникальная жёлтая деталь и редкая трубка), но всё таки 95% в наличии и мы начинаем!
1) светло-серые двигатели (я напоминаю, на дворе 1999 год, и не о каких голубоватых (bluish) цветах The Lego Group еще не думает, только классика, только хардкор!) – встречается в трёх наборах
2) кубики с сечением – в двух наборах 3) крупная угловая деталь с принтом уникальна 4) полосатая серо-красная принтованная также уникальна (в наборе две, у меня одна) 5) песочные детали с принтами альянса – в пяти наборах и 6) серая открывающаяся в трех наборах.
Минифигурки:
Минифигурок в наборе четыре штуки, и присутствие одной из них очень сложно объяснить. Перед нами невероятно популярные – классические фигурки пилотов-повстанцев. В 2019 году появление коллекционных фигурок с этими принтами в качестве юбилейных создало настоящий ажиотаж, среди фанатов и тех, у кого нет таких фигурок. Перед нами два друга, уроженцы планеты Татуин – Биггс Дарклайтер и Люк Скайуокер. Оба пилоты Красной Эскадрилье. Биггс погиб во время атаки на Звезду Смерти I, в битве с Дартом Вейдером, а чем закончилась та битва Вы помните.
Общий вид набора:
Икс-Винг представляет собой типичные конструкторы того времени – несмотря на малое количество деталей, большинство из них крупные, и итоговая сборка представляет собой довольно массивную модель культового истребителя.
Основная, и самая заметная функция набора – подвижные крылья. Именно они подарили название звездолёту. Т.к. Икскрылы обладают гипердрайвом (двигатель для перемещений в гиперпространстве) его крылья в сложенном состоянии представляют собой «походный режим», а в разложенном (в форме буквы X) – боевое состояние.
В дополнение к истребителю идёт ремонтный модуль. Это такой небольшой поезд на воздушной подушке с кучей инструментов, и загадочными черными кубиками, и боеголовками. Именно тут отсутствует больше всего моих деталей. Выглядит это транспортное средство слабовато, на фоне современных дизайнерских решений, но раньше было вполне себе достойным.
Взгляните на прекрасные виды профиля истребителя и его покатые формы. Выглядит мощно и достойно. Настоящая, неувядающая классика!
На сегодняшний день двигатели сзади выглядят слабовато, по сути просто масса налепленных круглых деталей. Особенно странно смотрятся они во время «парковки» машины. Наверно во время игры их стоило снимать в ангаре, а во время космических полётов приделывать на место.
Только взгляните на эти впечатляющие размеры. Занимает практически всю крупную строительную пластину. Классная боевая машина!
