Summary

Written by Mattecat, read by me.
___

When they help a young boy named Lloyd they find alone in the middle of the night, Heidi and Brett Cop are pushed into the Master Builder underground, where they attempt to uncover the truth about their sons' job with President Business.

An AU that assumes a number of things: that the LEGO Movies all take place in the same universe, that they were released in chronological order, and that that would make Lloyd "Green Ninja" Garmadon twelve or so years old in his appearance in the LEGO Movie. Then I stuck the cops' parents in there because I have no self control.

Summary

Rex’s disappearing at the end of the movie wasn't him disappearing from existence. It was him being slowly taken out from the alternate reality he created and being placed back into his universe, where he belongs. Unfortunately Emmett, believing Rex was going to be gone forever, went and did something stupid. He latched and hung onto his ultra-cool, bad future-now-alternate self in a poor attempt to keep his Vest Friend from his “doom”.

Now Rex, with Emmett in tow, has to find and piece together his super cool ship, hopefully find his raptor's, and regain all his “space-and-time” gadgets in order to send Emmett back to his alternate past. All the while trying to avoid his ex-friends and the overflowing metaphorical jar of emotional issues that comes with them. Joy.

Summary

"They never came back from me. So I'm saving myself. But I'm never going to be like what they've wanted me to be." Emmet says softly, tears running down his tired and bruised cheeks, hopeless of what life will do with him.

He just wants to go home.

An AU where Emmet saved himself right before Rex and Lucy came to save him.
And BCGC & Lord Bussiness kind of adopt him.
And also Rex doesn't die and gets the redemption he deserves.

Biography

The LEGO Movie

Bad Cop is the head of President Business's army and is the head of the Super Secret Police. He comes from a line of policemen, Pa Cop and Ma Cop being some of them, and when he gets angry, he kicks chairs (as revealed when he interrogates Emmet). He first appears interrogating Emmet in his Bad Cop form believing that Emmet is part of an elaborate plot working for the Master Builders, despite his Good Cop side appearing on some occasions. Soon after, he attempts to blast off the piece of resistance off of Emmet (lying to Emmet saying it won’t hurt in his Good Cop form) and leaves the room for a snack break. He returns to find Lucy freeing Emmet and sends in robots to hunt them down, but fails despite his best efforts. Later, he starts kicking a chair around in rage and even throws the chair so far that it knocks out a robot that runs away.

He later appears in President Business' (Lord Business') office for a talk, in which the antagonist reveals all his plans on how he is going to use the Kragle. To find out how loyal his henchman is, Business had Bad Cop test out the Kragle on his parents. However, his "good" side absolutely refused to, so President Business used the "Fleece Crested Scepter of Q-Teep" and the "Poh-leesh Reemover of Nah'yil" to erase the Good Cop face head in order to make him loyal, much to the horror of his parents. This caused Bad Cop to freeze his parents, his last words to his father being “Sorry, Dad - I have a job to do.”

Later he brings a force of robots to track Emmet down but had failed to capture him because Batman had stopped him. But he managed to put a tracking device on Emmet and later found him in Cloud Cuckoo Land with a robot force causing the realm to fall (both literally and figuratively). Shortly after he was seen trying to locate Emmet’s remains, but again fails.

Next he was seen again with President Business discussing what to do next. Later, Bad Cop was seen during Emmet’s Plan to destroy the Kragle and was distracted for a brief moment, but then was seen alongside Emmet’s captured friends and Lord Business.

After Emmet “sacrificed his life” and Lucy and the Master Builders escapes he fights alongside them, destroying many robots and brings back his Good Cop side with a marker - the result was a scribbly face with a wide smile, also known as Scribble Cop. At the end of the movie, it shows Finn having created Scribble Cop's Reunion with his parents after the antidote was spread.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part

In The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Scribble Cop (Bad Cop/Good Cop) doesn't speak in the movie but appeared in cameo three times. He first appears in his police car being carried by the Skeletrons. Emmet says "good morning" to him, to which he growls during the tween dream remix of Everything is Awesome. He then appears in Emmet's nightmare about Armamageddon. Scribble Cop can later be seen hiding in Batman's base when Sweet Mayhem arrives at Apocalypseburg.

One side portrays his "good" personality, and the other side portrays his "bad" personality. [2] His good side has an open smile and glasses. His bad side has sunglasses with grey lenses and a determined expression. Bad Cop also wears a black helmet.

    Background

Bad Cop works for Lord Business, and is his strongest and most ruthless henchman. He will do anything he can to help Lord Business achieve his goal of gluing the world together with the Kragle. Throughout the movie, he is obsessed with capturing Emmet whom holds the Piece of Resistance with him.

"No. . more. . Mr. Nice Guy!!" ―Lord Business, with his nail polish remover and q-tip

President Business meets with Bad Cop as his alter-ego, Lord Business, in his skyscraper's relic room, which is full of non-LEGO items from a world beyond theirs- our world. Business lets it be known that he is angry that Emmett escaped with the Piece, but intends to set everything in place--literally--with the Kragle (which happens to be a tube of Krazy Glue with some letters rubbed off). He seeks his lieutenant's true loyalties by having him fire the weapon-turned relic onto his own parents Ma Cop and Pa Cop, but his Good Cop side wins over. Business discovers this and rubs off that side of the officer with other powerful items (nail polish remover and a q-tip) before convincing him to demonstrate the Kragle's power.

The No. More. Mr. Nice Guy line was cut from the video game.

Bad Cop tracks down Emmet, Wyldstyle, and Vitruvius in the Old West which leads to him destroying a bridge for the train they are on, but they were rescued by Batman in his Batmobile and he turns Bad Cop's car into baby carriage to lose him. Bad Cop and his "Kragle-ized" forces locate Emmet again via a tracking device shot on to him when previously saving Wyldstyle from the shot and attack and capture all the remaining Master Builders (except for Emmet and a few others who escape in a quickly-built submarine) during the attack on Cloud Cuckoo Land. Above the ocean waves, Bad Cop reports no other survivors amongst the surfacing wreckage to Lord Business--but fails to notice said survivors hiding in the only part that stayed intact: a double-decker couch that Emmet had built for the first time on his own.

"Build away. whatever your name is." ―Good Cop, to Benny before building a space ship

Bad Cop later helps Wyldstyle and the Master Builders fight Lord Business' forces after he was abandoned by Lord Business for double-crossing him in the tower, and draws on a new Good Cop side with a marker. After the Kragle was destroyed, Bad Cop reunites with his parents. [2]

    Minifigures description

"There's still a Good Cop in me somewhere…"

Bad Cop may be a mean and ruthless bully, but he has a Good Cop half too – or at least he did until Lord Business used a powerful relic to erase his nice side’s face and keep his henchman’s conscience from getting in the way of his evil plans.

But is Good Cop gone forever? Could there still be a friendly smile lurking somewhere behind that cranky scowl? Emmet and his friends had better hope so, or they and the entire LEGO world may be doomed!

    Description [ edit ]

Bad Cop has a black torso decorated with a police uniform, and also has black arms, grey hands, black hips, and black legs. His head is yellow and has double-sided printing. One side portrays his "bad" personality, and the other side portrays his "good" personality. [2]

In 70802 Bad Cop's Pursuit, his bad side has sunglasses with grey lenses and a determined, aggressive expression, while his good side has round glasses with clear lenses and a smile. Bad Cop also wears a black helmet and wields a grey blaster that shoots red studs.

His 71004 The LEGO Movie Series variant comes with a double-sided head piece as well. One side shows his bad side, which has the same glasses but a less aggressive expression than his other variant; this variant's Bad Cop face is merely serious. The other side features a scribbled-on smiling face that looks like it was drawn on with marker. This variant carries handcuffs and a smartphone, which is depicted using a printed black 1x2 tile. The torso is the same, minus back-printing.

Bad Cop's appearance in 70819 Bad Cop Car Chase is the same as his appearance in 70802 Bad Cop's Pursuit, except he utilizes different face prints. His Bad Cop side features an angry, shouting expression, with an open mouth and teeth showing. The Good Cop side also features an alternate Good Cop expression. Like his appearance in 70802 Bad Cop's Pursuit, Bad Cop wields a stud-firing blaster.

    Background [ edit ]

Bad Cop is the son of Ma and Pa Cop who works as the top enforcer of Lord Business and is fiercely loyal to him, having captured Master Builders for him for many years. He interrogates Emmet after he finds the piece of resistance and brings him to the melting chamber. He leaves temporarily, and when he comes back, Wyldstyle has freed Emmet. He tries to stop them, and has his forces give chase through the streets of Bricksburg. Emmet and Wyldstyle escape in a tunnel that leads to the Old West, however, causing Bad Cop to be quite frustrated.

Not long after, Lord Business confronts him about his failure. After Bad Cop's failure to glue his parents in place using the Kragle, Lord Business determines that his Good Cop side is making him soft and wipes it off using nail polish remover. The now completely bad Bad Cop proceeds to glue his parents and continues his hunt for Emmet.

Bad Cop hunts for the group in the Old West and finds them after receiving a tip from Sheriff Not-a-Robot. Bad Cop pursues Emmet, Wyldstyle, and Vitruvius with his car, eventually cornering them on top of a train. He charges at them with his car, but they build a ramp and he flies off. His car, however, then transforms into flight mode, and he destroys the bridge, causing the trio to fall. They are saved by Batman in his Batwing, and Batman proceeds to fight Bad Cop, turning his car into a baby carriage, which falls to the ground.

Bad Cop later returns with his car to Cloud Cuckoo Land, having tagged Emmet with a tracking device in the Old West. At this point, the police vehicles have also been Kragled, so the Master Builders cannot destroy them. Bad Cop chases Emmet, but he, Wyldstyle, Vitruvius, Batman, Unikitty, and Benny escape into the waters below Cloud Cuckoo Land by building a sub. Though he lost Emmet, Bad Cop proceeds to destroy Cloud Cuckoo Land and capture all the Master Builders that had gathered there. In addition, he finds the wreckage of the sub the master builders had used, concluding that they had died but having his forces search for the remains anyway.

After the heroes are caught trying to reach the Kragle and are put into the Think Tank, Lord Business announces his plans to have the place self-destruct as the world is glued together, with Bad Cop trapped as well. Emmet saves them all by throwing himself off the edge of the universe, strapped to the battery controlling the explosion, and afterwards, Bad Cop joins the good guys, drawing on a new Good Cop face with black marker. When the heroes succeed in stopping the Kragle, he is shown reuniting with his parents, who are revealed to be safe, because Lord Business de-Kragled the citizens after uniting the Kragle with the Piece of Resistance.

    Notes [ edit ]

    • Liam Neeson, who voices Bad Cop and Pa Cop in The LEGO Movie, played Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
    • The name "Good Cop/Bad Cop" comes from a psychological concept used as a tactic in interrogation.
    • A running gag throughout the film is that when Bad Cop is angry, he takes out his frustration on a chair, kicking it away, and often hitting a Robo SWAT. Once, he hoisted up a chair and threw it, football-style, several hundred meters through the air, hitting a Robo SWAT with perfect accuracy.
    • Bad Cop/Good Cop's real name is unknown, if he even has one. His dual names may very well be his real names, although Pa Cop normally calls him simply "Son".
