8759 Battle of Metru Nui is a BIONICLE Playset released in 2005. It contains 856 parts.

This set is a playset with fourteen minifigures. It comes with each of the Toa Hordika minifigures and seven Visorak minifigures. It also comes with a huge Kahgarak (compared to the minifigures) with a golden Visorak head that can fire the smaller Visorak.

The prototype of this set featured yellow Visorak and a white "giant" Suukorak instead of a Kahgarak.

The Toa Hordika face their greatest challenge as they battle the Visorak for control of the Coliseum! Can they make it past the mighty Kahgarak, the Visorak defenders, and the tricks and traps? Lead the mini Toa Hordika figures into battle as they struggle to reach the great Hau gateway.

Includes 6 mini Toa Hordika and 7 mini Visorak figures.

This is a fun Lego set that captures a pinnacle moment in the Bionicle movie series to play with. It is not a true Bionicle set as it contains mostly traditional Lego pieces and is not scaled correctly to play with other Bionicle pieces, but is fun to build and my kids play with it after setup frequently.

More gold visorak that comes with this set is great but I find the thing underneath it pointless and unecessary.”

Bionicles coincided with a series of comic books and graphic novels released during the set's run from 2001 to 2016. The theme was introduced in 2001 and originally discontinued in 2010, being succeeded by Hero Factory but additional sets were also released up until 2016 after it's break in 2010 to 2014.
