70620 Ninjago City is a set for The LEGO Ninjago Movie that was released on September 1, 2017. The set is the seventh-largest LEGO set of all time in terms of its piece count, as well as the 2nd largest Ninjago set, with the first being 71741 Ninjago City Gardens.
It includes Lloyd and Kai in their high school outfits, Koko in her casual outfit, Ninja Force Jay, Rufus McCallister, Noonan, a Jamanakai Villager, Sally, Ivy Walker, Konrad, Severin Black, Tommy, Guy, Juno, Sweep, a Shark Army Gunner, the Green Ninja, Jay, two Ceremonial Robe mannequins, a small fishing boat and a three-story segment of Ninjago City; the bottom level features small houses and a stone bridge, the middle level features a number of shops and restaurants, the top-level features a sushi restaurant and Lloyd and Koko's apartment.

Designer's notes
"This is the fifth and final set that I designed for Ninjago, together with Christopher Stamp and a little bit of invaluable help from Niek. The model went through at least 4 complete redesigns and iterations, and countless physical and digital sub-builds as it grew alongside the Ninjago City seen in the film. Being able to work on this set was a dream come true - I had the freedom to draw inspiration from all over the film city, and distill that spirit into a single modular block.
Early in development I collected draws full of interesting techniques and details, which we sprinkled through the model where it made sense. It's hard to pick favourites, but I'm particularly proud of the variety of roof techniques for shingles seen throughout the model, and the new square railing element - you get a lot to play with! Niek made an amazing function, which can deep-fry crabs (or Gold bananas)! We managed to fit in a lot, but there were many more ideas leftover that will hopefully find their way into future models. there's also a traffic cone on top of the radio tower - I'm not sure how it got there.
There are a lot of decorations, minifigures and stickers, made by Djordje and Lars. Ninjago City is full of billboards and bright signage, so to recreate this variety, we knew that we'd have to use a lot of stickers. We aimed to make them as much fun as possible, adding in references to the film, classic LEGO themes and more. A Ninjago script/cipher was developed for the film, which we used to encode a lot of fun messages, and add extra depth to the world seen in the model. I'm hoping that these stickers will also be useful for people wanting to build their own creations!
It was an incredible amount of fun and work to make - pushing the limits on size, techniques, stickers and fun. It wouldn't have been possible without Chris, the Ninjago design team, and countless others! I'm glad it turned out okay!" [3]
At long last, we finally have our first look at the set images from the much-anticipated LEGO Ninjago Movie courtesy of Hoth Bricks and Promobricks. The Ninjago Movie is LEGO and Warner Bros’ next big blockbuster film from The LEGO Cinematic Universe and will hit cinemas on 22/21 September 2017. If you haven’t seen the trailer, be sure to check it out and my thoughts in this post.
I called the Ninjago Movie trailer dope and I’m very optimistic about the movie – definitely believe that it’s going to be much better than the LEGO Batman Movie and will surprise most fans. I just have a very good vibe from it.
Anyway, here’s a bunch of photos previewing The LEGO Ninjago Movie sets which have a release date of August 2017.
LEGO 70606 Spinjitzu Training – 109 pieces
The smallest set of the wave (not counting polybags is 70606 Spinjitzu Training which includes Kai and Zane minifigures. You get small parts of a dojo for them to practice their Spinjitzu skills as well as a healthy amount of weapons and accessories. I really like that we get 2 main characters in an inexpensive set and this should be a really popular set for fans and those wanting to dip their feet into the theme.
70607 Ninjago City Chase – 233 pieces
70607 Ninjago City Chase is the second smallest set and features a busy Ninjago City street scene disrupted by Ninjago City Police chasing down a criminal. For a small set, it comes with 5 minifigures including 2 main characters – Lloyd Garmadon, Nya, Shark Army Thug, Ham and Officer Toque.
I really love the shopkeeper and his seafood/fruit stall as well as all the cool little street signs.
Update: Now that we have better photos, the police rickshaw actually looks pretty cool!
LEGO 70608 Master Falls – 312 pieces
As the trailer suggested, Ninjago City isn’t the only setting that we’ll visit in the movie and 70608 Master Falls takes us to the great outdoors of the Ninjago wilderness as we witness Sensei Wu do battle with Garmadon in an epic fashion along a rickety bridge.
Also included is a Kai minifigure and a Skeleton.
While it’s a small set, I do like that it looks like a self-contained scene as well as a really nice mix of rocky cliffs and ruins.
70609 Manta Ray Bomber – 341 pieces
The villains are probably going to steal the show and their hilarious fish-themed minifigure costumes have really caught my attention. 70609 Manta Ray Bomber included a really cool jet designed in the shape of a manta ray and comes with 4 minifigures – Cole, Shen-Li, Great White, Shark Army Gunner.
The model looks really fun but the highlight of the set is undoubtedly the baddie in the Shark Costume.
70610 Flying Jelly Sub – 341 pieces
Continuing the trend of sea creature-inspired bad guys vehicles is the Flying Jelly sub which includes 4 minifigures – Jay, a Ninjago civilian and 2 baddies which include Hammerhead and Goldfish Bowl guy.
This looks like yet another fun model that featured quite heavily in the trailer.
70611 Water Strider – 494 pieces
The LEGO Ninjago Movie looks set to bring mechs back in spectacular fashion, and Nya’s Water Strider mech, which draws inspiration from pond skaters looks set to be a really fun set. I am very fond of LEGO Mecha which explains my excitement for the movie and the sets, and Nya’s Water Strider looks all sort of cool with its sleek black colour scheme and transparent blue accents.
The set includes 4 minifigures – Nya, Kai, Shark Army Thug, Puffer. The Puffer Fish baddie looks absolutely hilarious and is a must-have for me.
70612 Green Ninja Mech Dragon – 544 pieces
One of the most jaw-dropping montages in the Ninjago Movie trailer was Lloyd Garmadon’s (aka the Green Ninja) gracefully flying through the scene. We get a smaller-scaled down version of the dragon which manages to retain its amazing look and boasts all the sand-green parts you could ever want!
The set comes with 4 minifigures – Lloyd Garmadon aka The Green Ninja, Sensei Wu, Garmadon, Charlie . I love that we get so many main characters stuffed into the sets.
This is one of the must-get sets for me because who doesn’t love mecha LEGO sand green dragons? It also probably helps that the model’s design looks spectacular.
70613 Garma Mecha Man – 747 pieces
So it wasn’t strictly the shark mech that was shown off in the trailer, but 70613 Garma Mecha Man still kinda counts as a shark mech. It kinda looks like a cross between a Kaiju and Jaeger from Pacific Rim with the all the shark elements.
I like it as I’m a sucker for all things mecha. it serves as a formidable foe for Kai’s Fire Mech to go up against and it has a pretty fun design.
The set comes with 4 minifigures, Lloyd, Garmadon, a Shark Army Gunner and a Ninjago City civilian.
70614 Lightning Jet – 876 pieces
Jay doesn’t get a mech, but instead he gets a sweet Lightning Jet which seems quite large, coming in at 876 pieces. The set includes a whopping 6 minifigures – Jay, Ed, Edna, Crusty, Shark, Army Thug, Jelly.
The jet looks really fun and I love the antennae and lightning bolts sticking out the wings, but I’m also equally excited about the bad guys which includes a dude with a crab helmet and a guy with a goldfish bowl on his head.
70615 Fire Mech – 944 pieces
Kai is sort of the defacto head of the Ninjago crew, so it’s not surprising that his Fire Mech gets a lot of love from the designers, topping out at 944 pieces. I can only imagine how large this mech is when built and I’m really excited that we may finally get a decently huge LEGO mech. It’s been too long since the last great Mech – Emmet’s Construct-o-Mech).
The set comes with 6 minifigures – Kai, Zane, Lauren, Henry, Hammer Head, Jelly.
70616 Ice Tank – 914 pieces
Unfortunately there’s only a low-res photo of Zane’s Ice Tank, but from what we can see, it’s definitely on the larger side of things. The set comes with 5 minifigures, Zane, 2 Ninjago citizens and 2 baddies which includes a dude with a hysterical Anglerfish helmet.
I’m a sucker for tracked vehicles and will definitely get all the large vehicles/mechs from the set so I’m quite excited for this one. It has a very sleek, futuristic yet unique look to it as well which seems really cool.
Update: Oh hey, we finally have higher res images of Zane’s Ice Tank from the LEGO Ninjago Movie! The details are really striking and I’m a huge fan of the colour scheme. I really love the flags AND the huge translucent chamber behind the Ice Tank.
70617 Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon – 1403 pieces
Every baddie needs his own sinister fortress, which is where 70617 Temple of The Ultimate Ultimate Weapon (great name, btw) comes in. The set features 7 minifigures, which includes all the Jungle Garmadon and all the main Ninjas – Cole, Kai, Nya, Jay, Lloyd, Zane.
I’m concerned that the set looks like its just a facade, so I hope that there’s plenty of rooms and play features built into the back of the set.
Update: Looks like my fears were true. The back looks quite empty.
70618 Destiny’s Bounty – 2295 pieces
One of the flagship (heh) sets of The LEGO Ninjago Movie is 70618 Destiny’s Bounty which is probably the best and most detailed rendition of Sensei Wu’s junk-inspired boat yet.
The set includes all seven of the main good guy characters – Kai, Jay, Zane, Nya, Cole, Lloyd, Sensei Wu.
The ship looks stunning and is packed with plenty of gorgeous details that is befitting of the 2000+ piece count. I expect this to be quite huge as well and to make for an exceptional display piece.
There are 2 more sets that don’t have photos, 70613 Garmadon‘s Robo-Shark (which I’m guessing will be a retailer exclusive. Money’s on Toys R Us) and an unannounced D2c (Direct to Consumer) set.
That’s some of my brief thoughts on The LEGO Ninjago Movie sets! I’m really excited for these sets and can totally see myself getting all, if not most of them. The sets look silly, imaginative and most of all pack some really unique and fun designs that is simply a recipe for success when it comes to toys.
The movie clearly doesn’t take itself too seriously (unlike LEGO Batman) and I’m glad that it seems to have translated rather well to the actual LEGO models and sets.

Уже менее чем через три недели на широкие экраны выходит долгожданный для всех поклонников Лего полнометражный анимационный фильм «Лего Фильм: Ниндзяго» ("The Lego Ninjago Movie"). К этому знаменательному событию компания Лего выпустила целый ряд конструкторов по сюжету ожидаемой премьеры, а также специальную серию минифигурок её персонажей в закрытой (слепой) упаковке. Именно о них мы сегодня и расскажем в нашем новом обзоре.
Как и в серии минифигурок LEGO с героями «Лего Фильм: Бэтмен», в состав серии вошло 20 различных персонажей с аксессуарами. Далеко не все из них собственно ниндзя. Но обо всем по порядку.
MASTER WU (Мастер Ву)
Начнем с минифигурки мудрейшего наставника ниндзя – великого и великолепного Мастера Ву.
Мастер Ву одет в традиционный для персонажа костюм – белую робу с текстильной нижней частью, коническую шляпу и открытые сандалии. Борода является съемной деталью, под ней мы можем обнаружить совсем небольшую треугольную бородку. Выражение лица у минифигурки одно. В качестве аксессуара к сенсею прилагается большая коробка кукурузных хлопьев.
Лидер его учеников, зеленый ниндзя Ллойд Гармадон представлен сразу в двух вариантах.
Первый из них является совершенно классическим. Ллойд одет в черно-зеленый синоби-сёдзоку (традиционный маскировочный наряд ниндзя). Головной убор (фукумэн) состоит из двух деталей – верхней, закрывающий голову, и нижней – маски, скрывающей лицо. Выражение лицо одно, ухмыляющееся. К минифигурке прилагается довольно много аксессуаров. Во-первых, это волосы, которыми можно заменить фукумэн. Во-вторых, это плитка с чертежами механического дракона. И, в-третьих, уникальный жемчужно-серебристый меч с золотой кисточкой на рукоятке.
LLOYD GARMADON (Ллойд Гармадон)
Во второй своей версии зеленый ниндзя одет в повседневную одежду – темно-зеленую толстовку с капюшоном, надетым на голову, и черные джинсы. Челка, выбивающаяся из-под капюшона, составляет с ним единую деталь, так что, если снять головной убор, мы увидим совершенно лысую голову с одним выражением лица.
Здесь особенно примечательны аксессуары, предлагающиеся в комплект к минифигурке – это чашка для хлопьев с принтом в виде китайского дракона, а также серебряная ложечка. Судя по всему, наш герой собирается позавтракать.
GARMADON (Гармадон)
Переходим к главному антагонисту фильма – Гармадону.
Этот персонаж вошел в новую коллекцию минифигурок Лего в трех различных образах. Один из них – Гармадон в своем классическом злодейском образе. Его костюм выдержан в черно-белой цветовой гамме, на ногах и двойном торсике имеются элементы синего и серебристого цвета. На лице Гармадона светится белоснежными клыками злобный оскал, брови нахмурены, глаза красные. На голову злодея надета полностью черная текстурированная соломенная шляпа. В руках Гармадон держит черный посох с декоративным набалдашником.
VOLCANO GARMADON (Вулканический Гармадон)
Эта необычная и забавная минифигурка приоткрывает нам завесу тайны домашнего быта суперзлодея. Гармадон представлен в голубой ночной пижаме, украшенной изображениями облаков и извергающихся вулканов. Вид у Гармадона достаточно довольный, а в руках он держит миску для завтрака и ложку. Ничто человеческое суперзлодеям не чуждо.
FLASHBACK GARMADON (Флешбек Гармадона или, проще говоря, воспоминание о его прошлой, дозлодейской жизни)
Еще одна минифигурка, которая раскрывает нам некоторые биографические данные о Гармадоне. Как выясняется, он не всегда был злодеем, носил вполне приличный костюм, увлекался фотографированием и старался быть хорошим отцом для Ллойда. Однако небольшой аксессуар в виде фотографии с извергающимся вулканом посреди зеленой лужайки за миленьким белым заборчиком, уже наталкивает на некоторые мысли. Одет персонаж по моде 70-х годов – коричневое поло с широким галстуком, очки «авиаторы» в оранжевой оправе, из-под поло виден удлиненный воротник рубашки ярко-желтого цвета. Помимо фотографии в руках Гармадон держит фотоаппарат.
Черный ниндзя Коул, чья стихия – Земля, был самым первым принят в команду учеников Мастера Ву, а потому теперь мы переходим именно к нему.
В коллекции минифигурок, посвященных мультфильму «Лего Фильм: Ниндзяго», он представлен вовсе не в образе ниндзя, каким мы привыкли его видеть. На Коула надета спортивная майка, принтованная как спереди, так и сзади, а также черные джинсы с коричневым ремнем. Самым интересным элементом здесь является большой бумбокс с золотистыми элементами.
JAY WALKER (Джей Уолкер)
Еще один член команды Мастера Ву – Джей Уолкер, ниндзя Молнии.
Он также одет в повседневную одежду – коричневые брюки и синий пиджак с принтом спереди. На шею надет модный оранжевый шарфик. В руках Джей держит селфи палку со смартфоном и, судя по принту на телефоне, он уже успел сделать свой портрет. Выражение лица одно. Минифигурка, без сомнения, очень интересная и достойна попасть в коллекцию любителей серии Лего Ниндзяго.
KAI KENDO (кэндо-тренировка Кая)
Кай Смит – красный ниндзя и ниндзя Огня.
Собрав все детали конструктора воедино, мы получим минифигурку Кая, облаченную в классическую броню кэндо (японское искусство фехтования двумя мечами), а в руках он держит две тренировочные палки, призванные заменить настоящее оружие. На голову ниндзя может быть надет либо защитный шлем, либо шевелюра – и то и другое присутствует в комплекте набора. Лицо у минифигурки весьма воинственное, над бровью виднеется пластырь.
SPINJITZU TRAINING NYA (кружитцу-тренировка Нии)
Ния – сестра Кая и ниндзя стихии Воды.
Она одета в белый тренировочный костюм с золотистыми застежками, надписью на выдуманном языке ниндзяго и большим логотипом Мастера Ву на спине. В руках Ния держит две тренировочные деревянные катаны, на голове прическа из копны черных волос, собранных в пучок. Выражение лица одно – решительное.
Последний член команды сенсея Ву, представленный в новой специальной коллекции минифигурок Лего Фильм: Ниндзяго – это ниндроид с искусственным интеллектом Зейн.
Это ниндзя Льда, однако здесь он предстает перед нами в образе студента приличного учебного заведения. На нем надета голубая рубашка, очень стильный джемпер и белые брюки. На спине Зейн носит синий рюкзак с красной скаткой. Лицо ниндзя весьма счастливое.
SHARK ARMY GENERAL (Генерал акульей армии)
Переходим к приспешникам Гармадона.
Генерал армии акул – это, как ни странно, довольно милая барышня в весьма ярком и эффектном обмундировании. Лицевая сторона торсика и ног тщательно детализированы, на обратной стороне принтов нет. Костюм дополняется гибкими шипованными пластинами, одна из которых надевается как воротник, а другая – как плащ. Выражение лица у генерала немного сконфуженное, а в руках девушка держит розовый стаканчик с соком (хотя не исключено, что это мороженка).
SHARK ARMY GREAT WHITE (Большая белая акула)
Несмотря на название, минифигурка этого персонажа вполне стандартных размеров и выполнена в основном в темно-синих цветах. Костюм акулы тоже весьма впечатляет детализацией, на руках, ногах и шлеме в виде акульей головы имеются прожжённые места. И это неудивительно, ведь в руках воин акульей армии держит огнедышащую рыбину! Впрочем, ходят слухи, что Гармадон бросил его в жерло вулкана за какую-то провинность - увидим в фильме.
За спиной акула носит акваланг. Выражение лица – очень рассерженное.
SHARK ARMY ANGLER (Удильщик – боец акульей армии)
Имя и образ этого персонажа навеян глубоководной рыбой-удильщиком, также известной как Морской Черт, которая приманивает своих жертв светящимся в темноте отростком.
Шлем в виде рыбы выполнен из более мягкого, прорезиненного пластика и окрашен в бледно-зеленый цвет. Под шлемом мы видим украшенное шрамом женское лицо, которое выглядит довольно серьезным. В качестве оружия к минифигурке прилагается большая булава с рукояткой в виде рыбины.
SHARK ARMY OCTOPUS (Осьминог – боец акульей армии)
Четвертый юнит армии Гармадона – это Осьминог.
Его внешний вид также полностью соответствует его имени. Головной убор в виде осьминога тоже изготовлен из мягкого прорезиненного пластика и окрашен в темно-оранжевый цвет. Гидрокостюм выполнен в серо-голубой гамме, на спине – акваланг. В качестве оружия к минифигурке прилагается большая рыбина и стад-шутер.
GPL TECH (Механик гигантского лазера)
GPL – это энергетические лаборатории Гармадона, где разрабатывается нечто ужасное, с помощью чего суперзлодей собирается разрушить Ниндзяго-сити. Девушка с ноутбуком – одна из специалистов, работающих над созданием гигантского лазера. На ней надет белый халат научного сотрудника, коричневые брюки, а в руках, помимо лэптопа, она держит стандартную лего-кружку. Как можно заметить, она к тому же является поклонницей Бэтмана.
MISAKO (Мисако)
Переходим к нейтральным персонажам.
Мисако – это жена Гармадона и мама Ллойда. Надо отметить, что минифигурка выглядит довольно молодо, а с учетом того, что в серии присутствует флешбек Гармадона, можно предположить, что и этот образ также является чьим-то воспоминанием, скорее всего Ллойда. Мисако одета в белую блузку с бантом, оливкового цвета жакет и коричневые брюки. На лацкане пиджака можно увидеть бейджик с именем «Коко» (прозвище, которое дал ей Гармадон во времена совместной жизни). Примечательной деталью минифигурки является прическа – собранные в пучок волосы, закрепленные палочками для еды. В качестве дополнительного аксессуара к Мисако прилагается темно-красная сумочка.
GONG & GUITAR ROCKER (Рокер)
Как говорят в Ниндзяго-сити: «Мы построили этот город на роке и гонге».
Рокер-гитарист – это единственная минифигурка из серии, которая удостоилась двух выражений лиц. Одно из них довольно печальное, а другое отображает экспрессию музыканта во время исполнения очередного баррэ. Наряд персонажа вполне соответствует образу рок-исполнителя – на нем надета майка с изображением черепа и надписью на языке ниндзяго, на ногах - черные рваные джинсы с цепью и высокие белые сапоги. На голове у рокера длинные черные волосы, перевязанные красной банданой, а в руках гитара красного цвета с серебристыми элементами дизайна.
N-POP GIRL (Девочка-красотка)
Самая яркая в смысле расцветки минифигурка серии – это любительница поп-музыки. У неё светло-голубой топ с изображением Кисоньки (отсылка к самому первому полнометражному мультфильму Лего «The Lego Movie»), разноцветная балетная юбчонка, полосатые колготки и розово-голубые волосы. В качестве аксессуара к минифигурке прилагается игрушка - розовый медвежонок.
SUSHI CHEF (Шеф-повар суши)
И, наконец, последняя минифигурка серии – мастер по изготовлению суши.
Одет шеф в достаточно простой поварской костюм с изображением креветок на обеих сторонах торсика, а вместо головного убора у него имеется лысина, обвязанная банданой. В качестве аксессуаров к минифигурке прилагается большой поварской тесак и скрученные в рулет, но еще не нарезанные роллы.
