Lego star wars the force awakens battle takodana

Обновлено: 09.05.2024

The Takodana map isn't that big, with just 27 gold bricks to collect.

Head to the west side of the area where you spawn in on this map.

Destroy the crate in front of the ship.

Reassemble the parts into a BB-8 platform, hop on, and watch the events unfold.

When it's gone, grab the gold brick from the now vacated space.

Our next stop is the general mission icon in the northern part of this area.

To start the mission, head to the BB-8 icon you can see to the left of the stairs.

Accept the BB-8 challenge and destroy all of the canisters within the time limit.

Once you're done, the brick is yours.

The translate mission next on the list.

To initiate it, switch to C-3PO and talk to the character at the bottom of the steps.

You'll find yourself in a brawl, so be sure to come out on top.

When everyone's dead, the brick is yours.

Head to the race icon in the south.

It's to the right of the steps.

Spawn in a vehicle and get going.

You'll get the gold brick when you make the run within the time limit.

For the next brick we have to build five statues.

From the top of the steps on this area, head over to the arch straight ahead.

Destroy the nondescript beige box to the right of it and reassemble into the first statue.

From the top of the stairs, go right.

There's another box here that you can break down for statue parts.

Staying on the right, you'll find another box behind the terminal with the screen.

It's next to a lightsaber door. Deconstruct and reconstruct for statue number three.

Go back to the arch in the centre.

From here, you'll see the statue we just built and another beige box next to a wall in front of you.

That's statue number four.

Head back to the arch and over to the left side of the area.

The last of the beige boxes is over here.

Build the last statue for the next gold brick.

It's time for another general mission to spice things up.

Head right from the top of the stairs and speak to the character here to kick things off.

Fly around shooting the required amount of enemy ships.

When you're done, you'll have a gold brick for your trouble.

The next brick is in the southeast corner of the area.

Head to the wall were we build the fourth statue.

On the other side you'll see some agility bars.

Climb up and across to find the gold brick.

Go over to the translate mission icon by the northern path out of the area.

The character we're looking for is to the left of the staircase with the carbonite brick at the top.

Accept the mission and follow the stud path to your objective.

You'll eventually reach some First Order troops. Take out all seven of them.

Once you're done, you'll get the gold brick.

Head north from the translate mission.

Talk to the First Order Troop with a fellow Stormtrooper to accept the mission.

Emerge victorious and the brick is your.

As you follow the stud path to the objective, you'll need to destroy a gold Lego wall blocking the route. A gold brick will be left in its place.

Leave the starting area via the eastern path.

There's a crashed TIE fighter here and some resistance soldiers to the right.

Round up the troops and get them to assist with the grapple plugs on the TIE fighter.

The gold brick will fall out ready for you to scoop up.

Head north to the race icon.

Summon a vehicle and you're off.

You'll get the gold brick at the end.

Continue north to the open area at the top of the map.

Speak to Unkar Goon to pick up a general mission.

Fly around and shoot stuff.

You'll get the gold brick once you've shot enough things.

Another general mission is in order.

Talk to Mi'no Teest to the right of Unkar Goon.

There are three waves of vehicle destroying to get through.

You'll be rewarded with the brick at the end.

The last mission in this clearing is a scavenger mission.

Talk to Maz to get started.

This time around you'll be in the midst of a shootout.

The gold brick is your prize.

Some fiddling around with things is required for the next one. The order you do it in doesn't matter.

First of all, use the BB-8 platform.

Find the grapple plug and give it a yank.

Use the force to raise the banner.

Check off all three and you get the brick.

Make your way back down south to where the two paths meet.

Break the object beneath the agility poles.

Reassemble it into a trampoline and use it to reach the poles.

Now swing over to get the gold brick.

Continue down to where the Millennium Falcon is parked in the south.

There's a BB-8 challenge here.

Once again, destroy the canisters within the time limit.

And that's another gold brick in the bag.

You can pick up a resistance mission here as well.

Speak to Pru Sweevant by the Millennium Falcon.

Take your ship out onto the water and start shooting things.

When you're done, you'll get a gold brick.

For the next brick, we have to ferret out dormant plants and make them bloom.

The first one is at the start of the path leading away from the ship.

Keep going and you'll see the second one on the right.

The third one is on the left underneath the zip-line.

At the end of the path is a gate.

The fourth plant is to the left of the gate.

The fifth one is to the right.

You'll get the gold brick when the last one flowers.

To reach this gold brick, head back down the path we made the flowers bloom on until you reach the point on the map.

Hop onto the zip-line.

You'll collect the brick as you slide down to the ground.

Use a vehicle to reach the southern island.

Destroy the gold Lego statue.

Grab the brick it leaves behind.

There's a race point on this island.

Spawn in a vehicle and take it for a spin to get the gold brick.

Move on to the island in the west.

There's a cracked Lego crate here.

Destroy it for the gold brick.

There's a second gold brick on this island.

Use a character with a grapple to open the chest by the shore.

The gold brick is inside.

The last two bricks are on the northern island.

Use the force on the chest balanced on the rocky outcrop.

That's the penultimate gold brick on this map for you.

For the last one, destroy everything by the jetty.

Reassemble the parts into a fishing rod and use the force to make it work.

It'll reel in a gold brick.

Find your angles

Learn Why Snot Rocks

It may sound funny, but SNOT is no joke. It stands for ‘Studs Not On Top’ and it’s a great way of building with LEGO® bricks! Building the SNOT way means angling your bricks in a way that brings landscapes to life. Check out this video where David Hall takes you through how he used SNOT to build his Brickorama, and for examples of how you can do it yourself!

How to Make a Minifigure Walk

Want to learn how to make your Stormtroopers™ march? In this video, Forrest Whaley demonstrates the process of creating a minifigure walk in stop motion animation. It can help to watch how people walk to get the movements down. When you put one leg forward, swing the opposite arm of the minifigure forwards. With each movement, shift the torso just a little bit to make it look a little more realistic. Then, once you’ve created this small walking loop, you can repeat it! Check out the video for a full tutorial.

Make it move

Simple movements can make big changes to photos. Try out different ways to make your scenery move around your models or find ways to make your models move on their own! Fishing line can be a great tool to make things look like they’re floating and moving on their own.

How to Build a Background

One really cool way to add depth, light and movement into your Brick Film is to use a projection in the background. In this video, Forrest Whaley teaches you about a rear screen projection and how he uses animation and a projector to make his backgrounds move. You can do this in your own home by using a computer, tv or tablet screen in the background!

Try a hand-drawn Hunter™

Try your skills at drawing a speedy scene from The Bad Batch™ featuring Hunter™. Get a good look at your hoverbike and minifigure, then start drawing! First you will want to draw everything down in pencil. Pay attention to any details. For this base layer it’s OK to make mistakes! Also, fill in the surrounding page with things like motion lines and dust to make it look like your bike is speeding! Next, outline everything in a thin black marker and then the outer-most line with a thicker black marker. When it comes to color, be sure to use different hues to build shadows and highlights in your drawing. It’s those details that really bring it to life. To make your bike hover, add a hoverbike-shaped shadow below your drawing. The darker the shadow, the lower it looks to the ground. Finally, push those highlights with a white paint pen or colored pencil.

Brick BIG

Creating a LEGO® diorama, or Brickorama, is a great way to show off your building skills while also telling a story captured in time. Brickoramas can be small or BIG like this Brickorama by David Hall. In his build, he’s telling the story of The Bad Batch™ being hunted down by Imperial Troops in the forests of Daro™. Desperate to find cover, the gang reaches a hillside where they meet Crosshair™ alongside a pack of Stormtroopers™. In the skies, a fierce battle between good and evil is taking place. Watch his how-to videos to get some info about how to create your own Brickorama and tell your story.

Minifigures Making Moves

Want to add some character emotion to your set-up? Pay attention to your minifigures! With little arms that wing, tiny hands that rotate and different facial expressions you can do a lot with a minifigure. Take a look at this video to see how David Hall brings his minifigures to life!

This page presents information on where to find and how to obtain ten minikits and a red LEGO brick in mission "Battle of Takodana", the sixth chapter of the main story. Try to find these collectibles in the free game mode. Additionally, read information provided below, where you find information such as how to prepare yourself properly for the hunt.

Important information

It is best to try to find collectibles in this chapter in the free game mode, only after you have unlocked a greater number of playable characters. Only several of those collectibles can be found while playing this chapter for the first time (in the story mode).

A very important piece of information is that some of the collectibles cannot be obtained only with characters that you have obtained in the story mode. Minikits 4 and 7 can only be obtained by a character that can swim and the easiest way to obtain one by completing the "Poe to the rescue", thanks to which you obtain Admiral Ackbar. Minikit 6 requires a character that can destroy cracked walls. In this case, you have to access the playable characters list and buy someone that can destroy cracked walls, e.g. Grummgar.

There are three different statues connected with minikit 3, which you have to use the Force on. What makes things difficult is that these statues are in different locations of this area. Try to follow the order of actions provided in this walkthrough, thanks to which you will not miss any of the collectibles.

Apart from obtaining the collectibles, you can try to obtain the title of the True Jedi (True Jedi). It is awarded in this mission "Battle of Takodana" after you collect, at least 120000 studs.

As I did when reviewing 75140 Resistance Troop Transporter and other recent LEGO Star Wars sets, I’ll bury the full review under the jump, but I WILL be referencing spoilers in this review. If you’re reading a LEGO Star Wars set review about a set from The Force Awakens nearly three weeks after the movie was released, I think it’s safe to assume you’ve seen the move.

If not, SPOILERS AHEAD! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

The build

The Battle on Takodana comes in three numbered bags, with a single 72-page instruction booklet.

The first bag includes parts for the first section of Maz Kanata’s castle (since that’s what we’re building here), along with two First Order stormtroopers.

Since the set consists of a structure rather than a vehicle, there’s not a lot in the way of SNOT (Studs Not on Top) and other studs-out techniques, though as the build progresses there are plenty of clever gimmicks for play features that use techniques I haven’t seen before. I’ll cover the play features in more detail later in this review.

More plate, slope, and brick stacking continues in Bag 2, when Kylo Ren and Finn join the fray. During the second part of the build, you add a brick-built sliding door.

Maz Kanata finally shows up in Bag 3, which takes up the whole second half of the instruction booklet. There are three separate play features in this fairly small section of the wall, which is hinged to connect with the larger door section built in the previous two bags. The play features include the usual gears/handles + camshafts techniques we’ve come to expect, but the large tan gear is connected to a rather ingenious setup of Technic liftarms that make the pop-off wall sections in sequence when the cam rotates. More on this later…

Given that this is a numbered bag affair, the set is modular — the door section pops away from the wall section.

The build itself felt a little brief for a $60 set, and since I’ve mostly been building rather substantial vehicles like 75105 Millennium Falcon and 75102 Poe’s X-wing Fighter lately, the construction techniques (other than the very clever play feature mechanisms) felt a little basic.

Parts & value

While I don’t see any totally new parts in this set (and I’ll acknowledge that I’m not a parts guru), it includes a sizable amount of dark tan and a whopping 28 masonry profile bricks (aka “brick bricks”) in nougat. The set also includes plenty of useful plates and bricks in dark gray. As I built the set, it felt like there wasn’t a single piece I would term “useless” or “single-use” — at least for my own building style (though also acknowledging that I’m no NPU guru, either).

As useful as every piece in the set may be, I’d be hard-pressed to recommend the set on value alone. Even though I’ve felt for years that an increase in the “standard” ten cents per piece so many collectors abide by is overdue for an increase, it’s still a useful yardstick to compare against. The set includes a mere 409 pieces for $60 — that’s nearly 15 cents per piece. In contrast, 75140 Resistance Troop Transporter retails for $70 with 646 pieces, or about 11 cents per piece. In other words, for only $10 more, you get nearly 250 more pieces in the Resistance Troop Transporter.

The minifigs

75139 Battle on Takodana includes Finn, Kylo Ren, Maz Kanata, and two First Order stormtroopers.

Finn is the same minifig as the one in 75105 Millennium Falcon, though I accidentally put Kylo Ren’s legs on him so he looks like he’s wearing stormtrooper longjohns in these photos…

Maz Kanata is a brand new minifig, with a unique head, a cool torso print, and short legs. As with Rey’s headwrap, Maz’s goggles don’t come off.

Kylo Ren and the First Order stormtroopers are the same as the minifigs in other sets from The Force Awakens. One of the stormtroopers wields the riot control baton he uses to fight Finn after Finn takes Darth Vader & Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber from Maz Kanata (again, we warned you about spoilers).

The Kylo Ren minifig has hair as well as a helmet, and his head is double-sided — for sulking and temper tantrum modes.

Given that this version of Finn was only available in the $150 Millennium Falcon and Kylo Ren was only available in his $120 Command Shuttle, the $60 you pay for this set is actually a fairly cost-effective way to pick up these two minifigs in a set, along with the wonderful Maz Kanata minifig and a couple of First Order cannon fodder.

The finished model

Ultimately, 75139 Battle on Takodana is a minifig playset, which is why I inverted my usual review order and discussed the minifigs first. But even if the stars of the set are the minifigs, the playset itself has quite a lot going for it.

The front door to Maz’s pirate/smuggler hideout looks like a perfectly scaled-down version of the movie set. Inverted 1x2x3 inverted slopes in light and dark gray create a triangular opening, with a banner hanging over the door.

The left side of the structure looks smaller, but this is where all the fun actually is.

One small camshaft pushes a wooden container out of the wall.

When you turn the large tan gear I mentioned earlier, its camshaft moves first one, then the other Technic liftarm, in turn pushing the breakaway wall sections up…

…and then over onto the ground below.

The third play feature in this section is a falling tree, activated by a lever.

While I appreciated and enjoyed many of the play features in this set, one of the more baffling features is a little depression on the steps that you’re supposed to put five 1×1 round plates into, and pop them out with a push-plate behind the doors. This doesn’t look like destruction, as such, and having seen the movie twice, I have no idea what this is supposed to be. Any ideas, dear readers?

Conclusions & recommendation

751309 Battle on Takodana has a lot going for it — another batch of five excellent minifigs (including two previously available only in much more expensive sets), useful bricks, and a really fun finished model with lots of playability.

But it’s hard for me to recommend this set at full price, compared to similar-sized LEGO Star Wars sets with considerably more parts. I built the recently retired 2014 B-wing earlier this week, and at 435 parts at $50, the completed set is one hefty model at a decent price. I can’t say the same about Maz Kanata’s castle in this set, no matter how awesome the minifigs or how fun the play features.

As much as I do like this set, the price is high enough that it becomes a key consideration in my recommendation. I’d recommend waiting to pick this up until large retailers like Amazon inevitably put this on 15-20% discount. But if you’re worried you’ll miss out on Maz Kanata by waiting too long and you don’t want to dish out a combined $270 to get Kylo Ren and Finn in other sets, $60 isn’t such a bad deal.
