Red hood lego batman

Fans who are excited for Red Hood's upcoming debut in Titans need to look no further than classic Batman games for their Jason Todd fix.

Fans of Titans were treated yesterday to a teaser of the Red Hood's impending Season 3 debut. While originally an alias of the Joker, Jason Todd’s mantle of the Red Hood is one of the more complex vigilante figures of the world of Batman, who still believes in removing the crime and corruption rampant in Gotham, but in a much more lethal way. For obvious reasons, this forces Batman and his allies to fight Jason as if he was a supervillain himself.

The Red Hood is too often under-represented in popular-entertainment, so let’s look at some of the video game appearances he has made. To be clear, even though the title originally belonged to the Joker, we're only counting games where Jason Todd is the Hood.

Batman: Arkham Knight

Throughout the campaign of this game, Batman is forced to fight a mercenary army and their leader, the mysterious Arkham Knight, who have allied with Scarecrow. Towards the end of the game, it is revealed that the Knight is actually Jason Todd, who Batman thought was tortured and killed by the Joker. Following a fight, Batman apologizes to Jason and offers to help him recover, but Jason rejects the offer and flees.

Jason would later return to help Batman defeat Scarecrow. After the apparent death of Bruce Wayne following the public reveal of his secret identity, Jason takes up the mantle of Red Hood. He becomes a crime-fighting vigilante once more, albeit more lethal than Robin or Nightwing. Fans have the chance to play as him in a DLC story where he hunts down the crime lord, Black Mask.

Lego Batman/DC Super-Villains

While not a part of the main campaigns for any of the Lego DC games, Red Hood is an unlockable character through exploration and challenges. In Lego DC Villains, he is unlocked by beating him in an optional boss fight atop the Iceberg Lounge. In addition to his martial arts fighting like most other heroes of these games, Red Hood also comes dual-wielding pistoles as well as sticky grenades, keeping with his lethal way of going about taking down enemies.

Injustice 2

Red Hood appears in seminal DC Comics fighter Injustice 2 as a DLC character, released in a pack alongside Star-Fire and Sub-Zero. Keeping with the comic origins, Jason Todd was murdered by Joker but later resurrected by the Lazarus Pit. He holds nothing but utter hatred of Joker, as well as Tim Drake for replacing him and Batman for seemingly abandoning him. In his arcade ending, Jason refuses to side with either Batman or Superman. Instead of joining the heroes as they fight amongst themselves, he focuses on doing actual vigilante work in saving and protecting people. As the Red Hood, Jason prefers to kill criminals rather than arrest, utilizing his trademark dual pistols, a knife, ninja stars and grenades when fighting opponents.

Gotham Knights

Red Hood next appears in the upcoming Gotham Knights, which features all of Batman's former sidekicks uniting in the wake of the apparent death of both Bruce Wayne and Commissioner James Gordon to protect Gotham from the Court of Owls. Red Hood sees himself working alongside Barbara Gordon as Batgirl, Dick Grayson as Nightwing and Tim Drake as Robin, however they all carry on Batman’s legacy of not killing. This may put them at odds with Jason, who has always been the family's black sheep. Whether or not he will relent on his need to kill all of Gotham’s criminals and supervillains is yet to be seen, but since he is willing to work with the other defenders of Gotham, he may have finally forgiven Batman for his failure to save him.

Red Hood is a Super Heroes minifigure who first appeared as a playable character in the handheld version of LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and on console version for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. He physically appeared in the set 76055 Batman: Killer Croc Sewer Smash, released in summer 2016, and released again in the set 10753 The Joker Batcave Attack (as Robin).

Description

Red Hood has a red colored head with angled, white eyes that are surrounded by black ovals. His face is otherwise featureless but has a mirrored line that comes straight down his face until under his eyes where it slants inwards and becomes vertical. He wears a brown jacket that is opened to reveal a tight, grey shirt. He has a black belt above his hips and wears black pants and gloves. He carries dual pistols and has acrobatic, explosive, grapple, and hacking abilities.

Background

After Dick Grayson had a fall-out with Batman and left the Robin mantle to become Nightwing, Batman discovered Jason Todd trying to steal the Batmobile's tires. He gave Jason a chance at a better life and made him Grayson's successor as Robin. However, in an attempt to get to Batman, The Joker kidnapped and seemingly killed Robin. Years later, Jason was resurrected (Either by Ra's al Ghul's Lazarus Pit or an unintended result of Superboy punching a hole in reality) and returned to Gotham as the Red Hood, a super villain intent on getting revenge on Batman for never avenging his death at the hands of Joker. Along Red Hood's scheme for vengeance on Batman he acted as something of a vigilante who fought violent crimes while committing several other crimes himself and waging war on the gangster Black Mask. He was briefly part of a mercenary team with Arsenal and Starfire. However, he eventually created another team, Red Hood and the Outlaws, which consisted of him, Bizarro, and Artemis.

Red Hood is considered to be a member of the Bat-family, which primarily consists of Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Red Robin, Alfred Pennyworth, Batgirl, and Commissioner Gordon. However, due to his more violent methods, his relationship with Batman is uneasy at best.

In LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

Red Hood is unlocked for purchase after finding the first minikit in Brawl at City Hall. He costs 200,000 studs.

In LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

Red Hood becomes available to purchase for 250,000 studs.

Once the rough-and-tumble sidekick to Batman as the second Robin, Jason Todd has returned as Red Hood. Although his methods are sometimes questionable, Red Hood is a tough hero who will do anything to protect his friends and partners.

Description [ edit ]

The LEGO Batman Movie's interpretation of the Red Hood character draws on two different versions of the character from the comics, similar to the designs of other characters in the movie. He wears a tuxedo, cape, and domed red helmet (accomplished with a newly introduced armour piece also used by Mr. Freeze) which are worn by classic variations of the character, often inconclusively associated with a possible origin story for The Joker. Meanwhile, the minifigure also carries two handguns and has a smaller helmet with white eyes and black lines underneath the dome, motifs which are evocative of the Jason Todd incarnation of the character.

Background [ edit ]

The Red Hood is a minor unidentified criminal who was confronted by Batman one night at Ace Chemicals. The Red Hood was never apprehended, but fell into an exposed vat of toxins. His fate is ultimately unknown, but he is popularly supposed to be The Joker, with the toxins the cause of his disfigurement. Even The Joker himself is not sure if this is true, however.

Some years later, Jason Todd adopts the mantra for himself subsequent to his resurrection in the Lazarus Pits.

In The LEGO Batman Movie [ edit ]

Red Hood is among the entourage of super villains who attack Gotham Energy and Commissioner Gordon's retirement party.

LEGO DC Super Villains Red Hood - How to Unlock Red Hood

LEGO DC Super Villains has a gigantic character roster packed full of iconic DC Comics heroes and villains - in fact there are around 165 of them to unlock, not counting custom characters! And out of these, LEGO DC Super Villains Red Hood could be the most surprisingly difficult to unlock.

We'll show you exactly how to get Red Hood in LEGO DC Super Villains, all the steps you'll need to do, where you'll need to go, and unlock Red Hood!

LEGO DC Super Villains Red Hood - How to Unlock Red Hood

Jason Tood, aka Red Hood - as best seen in the movie Batman: Under The Red Hood or Batman: Arkham Knight - can be unlocked at any point in the game, but he requires several steps before you can get him - and none of them are made clear. You have to unlock another character first, and even he needs a specific step to find - and doesn't appear on the map.

While Gold Bricks don't have much use in the game, you'll need to get one as a first step. Head to the map point above, in the Crime Alley part of Gotham City, just above Ace Chemicals on the map. Just in the rooftops you'll find a wall that can be graffiti-tagged and destroyed. Change to Joker or someone with explosive spraypaint and blow up the wall, and just beyond this you'll find a new villain.

This is The Shade. Complete his mission by finding and talking to nearby goons - they appear on the map, use a flying character like Starfire to make it easy. Once you've talked to them all, go back to Shade and answer his questions. This will unlock him, but also add a new boss fight to the map. Oh, you'll get attacked by ninjas, by the way.

The boss fight is on top of the Iceberg Lounge, which is directly south of your position. Fly up there with Starfire, Superman, or another flying character, and you'll meet the boss of Ace Chemicals island - Red Hood! Simply beat him in battle - he'll be similar to the Nightwing boss fight from the game's second story mission, which coincidentally took place inside the Iceberg Lounge. Defeat him, and you'll be able to buy Red Hood from the character list for just 10,000 studs. Congratulations, you've unlocked Red Hood for play!

Here's where to get Jessica Cruz Green Lantern, a flying/Lantern character who's also available in the open world. Or, if you just want to cheat characters, here's how to unlock them with codes.

Red Hood Reviews

“ From the looks of it, this version of Red Hood is based on the Joker before he adopted the identity of the Joker from Batman: The Killing Joke. He has on a black suit with a purple tie, vest, and gloves. He also wears a new red armor piece and cape along with the new domed . More red helmet that fits snug on the armor. Be warned, the cape will be pinched by the armor piece. Red Hood has a red head piece with some white eyes. His accessories include a couple of guns.”

“The Red Hood minifigure is nothing short of exceptional – he comes with a red shoulder pad armor thingy, and a stylish 3-piece suit underneath it all. He comes equipped with 2 Uzis, a relatively rare LEGO weapon that I’m glad is making a return in this Series.”
